hey baby girl
Hey Baby Girl Oliver was one of those guys that got any girl he ever wanted, except for me. All he had to do is flash a beautiful smile, run his fingers through his hair and every girl would stop and stare as if Bradley Cooper had just walked in. Now don’t get me wrong, Oliver is very attractive, but I’m that girl that likes to play hard to get. On a normal day it was “Hey baby girl, I’ve missed you. How’s your day going so far?” He usually said this to most of his fan-girls so it didn’t faze me much, which I then would say with a smile on my face, “awe that’s cute, my day was going great until you showed up in my presence.” You could tell he was amused by this from the way he giggled and looked at the ground and back at me. I would then, in return, turn around and walk away without saying goodbye, hoping that he was staring at my butt as I walked away. We did this for most of our school days and I was content with it. For some reason this day was different, he seemed to move in slow motion when I saw him. At that precise moment the wind magically picked up swaying his beautiful beach blonde hair ever so gently and his smile seemed to sparkle like the stars when he looked my way. Now from the outside it looked like he didn’t faze me at all but my hands started to sweat as I held on to my books a little tighter like a snake constricting its prey as he came closer. In my head I prayed that he wouldn’t look at me with his glistening blue eyes, because I might break out of the whole calm act I was attempting. I turned my head away trying to pull myself together but I could hear every step he made closer to me and feel his eyes sizing me up while getting ready to use the same pickup line he always used. My heart was racing and my mind was trying to figure out why I was acting like this when I saw him in my peripheral. My mind told me to run but my legs wouldn’t do it and by that time he leaned against the wall, ever so gently, right next to me and said nothing.

I was closing in behind her as she reached the crosswalk. She started to cross, of course I followed. After we crossed the street, she walked for awhile, then she sat down on a communal bench. “May I sit here?” I asked. “Of course,” she replied. A minute or two later, she asked “You look familiar, do I know you?” I stated who I was. Everything clicked after that. We started talking about the old days when nothing really matters. I lost track of time, we sat there for what seemed like minutes. Only to find out it had been a couple hours. We exchanged phone numbers, I told her to keep in touch. We went our separate ways, I called a cab and went back to my…

He didn't even know that he had done it until a man pointed out that he had used the same one. He didn't believe that he had done that until he checked and found out that he had. He was embarrassed and said that he must have done it unconsciously because he had been reading Oliver's book so many times when he was sick for a couple of weeks. He wrote a letter to Oliver and apologized and Oliver wrote back that it was not a big deal. The two men became friends after…

I remember the first time I stayed awake throughout the night till a beaming light peaked through the window and hit my face like the touch of a baby's hand. Although the morning had risen, the moon had just come up. In the intensity of rushing to school, the need for pleasing others with looks has gone past me. The knots and tangles I feel in my stomach have also reached my hair as I pull parts of my day out of the strands.…

I had taken a closer look in the house to see how it differs from a regular house. I had noticed there were patch jobs in the hall ways. I had inquired about it to the staff member and they had told me that it from one of the residents who I violent a lot and had constant mood swings. In my mind, I thought yikes, I better stay out of his way. I had done just that, but only for a little bit. Later that night, he was into watching the roughrider game, so I had thought this might be an opportunity to try to bond with the guy. Even though I knew nothing about the sport, it was worth it. By the of the game, we were cheering and laughing. I had felt an instant connection with this individual. After the shift was over and I had left. How in the world could you ever predict something like this? It's...I mean, you're so close. We've been neighbors forever, since we were little kids. Playing together, messing around and stuff. I've always thought of Ralph Merriweather as this little playmate next door, you know? This goofy kid with unruly hair and a squeaky voice and acne. How was I to know I'd fall for Ralph Merriweather? Things change, you know? One day here's this skinny, uncoordinated guy with a big Adam's apple and then, all of a sudden, you turn around and he's super-neat. One day he's a dork, the next, a hunk. It happened last night when we went over to the Merriweather's for the holidays like we have since I can remember. Of course, there was mistletoe. And Ralph grabs me and kisses me, and - wow!…

We walked up the stairs and I felt a chill go through my bones, I started to count the blue fuzzy steps that were stained brown with coffee stains. You could see the dull boring white paint with flakes that pointed out the chipping and revealed the age of the building. The smell of lemon and lavender hit me like a wave in the ocean crashing onto the shore. We eventually reached the top of the stairs and approached the purple door with a white flakey knob, and as she turned it you could hear it squeak and then finally stop as she revealed a perfectly polished pink room. A carpet was laid on the ground it was so orange and soft that I kept myself seated on the ground admiring the carpet as I briskly, yet lightly, brushed my fingertips across it. All of a sudden my thought were interrupted by the sound of a snip. It took me a while to register what was going on, but as soon as I saw the long brown curl on the delicate carpet I felt myself cringe. I continued to sit there as lifeless as my fallen hair on that beautiful carpet. It felt like torture sitting there with all my words stuck in my throat; it was as if I never even had…

At the start of the 21st century, the understanding of mental illness, mental disorders and intellectual and physical disabilities had grown significantly. Before this there was barely any medical help to provide for the mentally disabled. The explanation for having a mental illness was centred on the patient being possessed by evil spirits or demons, often resulting in an exorcism. A lot of sane people that were misdiagnosed were imprisoned in institutions such as Bethlem Hospital. The mentally ill are now allowed to be managed away from hospitals or institutions due to the development of sophisticated medication in the late 20th century and early 21st century. In the past, the mentally ill had almost no rights. Common discrimination to people with mental disabilities has emerged from society’s lack of knowledge and the impact of the media.…
