CU1516 | Introduction to Personal Development in Health, Social Care |

Task link to learning outcome 1, assessment 1.1, 1.2 1.3 Assessment Criteria | Answers | 1.1 Describe the duties and responsibilities of own role | My duties and responsibilities is to meet the needs of the clients following policy and procedures which includes: personal care, assisting with meal preparation and planning, support emotional and decision, is my duty to report to my manager any changes in the client behaviour and condition and to record all my activities and information about the client. It is my duty to maintain health and safety, work as a team with my colleagues, to maintain confidentiality and not to share any information with people who don’t have right to know, is my duty to maintain and improve on my skills and knowledge, to make sure all my clients are included when is activity time | 1.2 Identify standards that influence the way the role is carried out | They are standards which are relevant to domiciliary carers and users services like: National Occupational Standards which describe best practice by bringing together skills, knowledge and values; National Minimum Standards are a set of standards which all care homes must meet in order to operate and be registered as a care home; Code of Practice is a set of written rules which explains how people working in a particular profession should behave | 1.3 Describe ways to ensure that personal attitudes or beliefs do not obstruct the quality of work | I must use a person centred approach in dealing with service users, recognising them as individuals and respect their rights, privacy, dignity, values, needs and beliefs; every action I do is in the best interest of the client, make sure I respect de care plan and let the client to make their own choices. For example if the client wishes to have a sandwich after taking lunch I have to respect the desire not to oppose him and
