How do you respond to conflict, do you use positivity or negativity? When dealing with conflict, more than often, individuals will resort to aggression. However, is that the best way? Events such as the Holocaust and the bombing of Hiroshima all test us on how we react. As shown in books Dear Mrs. Breed, Maus, and The Diary of Anne Frank, positivity is a way to go when dealing with loss/war. Positive thinking is one of the best ways to respond to conflict.…
Anne Frank is someone who influenced history long after she was gone, because of her courage, bravery, and willpower that got here and her family through the tough times up until they were seized. Though Anne died at age fifteen in one of the camps, we still see her today as such an accepting human being throughout her life. In one of her very last entries Anne stated, “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” This entry proves her beliefs beyond measure that all humans are good people and mean for the best in their own lives. This statement alone expresses everything people need to know about Anne and who she was as a person this shows a maturity level way beyond her years as a young girl of only thirteen…

Anne was a very optimistic person, with lots of joy she saw the brightest side of everything that came her way. Being optimistic during such a horrible time has to be a reason. In both Jesse Andrews’ Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich’s Diary Of Anne Frank, the authors portray the theme of remaining optimistic through the most unfathomable situations imaginable can help the people around one enjoy the gift of life, even if they are suffering severe heartbreak and injustice. It also gave them the ultimate control over their lives, because even though they were eventually defeated by the difficulties they faced, their spirits were victorious. Hackett and Goodrich use Anne’s positive demeanor to attempt to lift the pessimistic spirits of the other characters seeking refuge in the Secret Annex. This included Mr. Van Daan, Mr. Dussel, and Peter. Anne’s approach is to explain the wonderful…
positive way, conflict provides an opportunity for growth, ultimately strengthening the bond between two people. By learning the skills we need for successful conflict resolution, we can keep our personal and professional relationships strong and growing.…
Anne Frank once said, "In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." This quote was written right before the Annex was found by the Nazis. I feel this expresses three of Anne's personality traits. It indicates how honest, humble, and brave she is. Even when her whole world is crumbling and she has every right to be angry at the unfairness of her situation, she still chooses to believe that people are good. Anne Frank, a Jewish girl alive during World War II, believed the Nazis looking for her and her family, were good people deep down. Anne was a Jew, hiding in an attic from age thirteen to fifteen years old. She wrote every day for two years in her diary named Kitty. She, her family, and another Jewish family were all hiding from the Nazis because Germany had ordered the extermination of all Jews in 1939. This became known as the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a genocide, where about six million Jewish people were…
My mother has told me since I was a child, “Conversation before confrontation. You must use your words to solve differences before violence.” That saying has always stuck with me since the first time I heard it. In keeping it close to my heart, I have grown to live by those words. Before any source of conflict can arise, I take the pacifist route to try and solve differences instead of letting hate overcome a more peaceful direction.…

A positive attitude helps me to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. A positive attitude can bring optimism into one’s life, making it easier to avoid failure. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening. My own positive outlook can greatly benefit my community mentally, physically and emotionally.…
Bob Marley once said, "Don't worry about a thing because every little thing is going to be all right child." The words of legend Bob Marley speaks wisdom into our souls with music that good things never come to negative people. So leave everything in the hands of God. Negativity poisons the soul like a venomous snake. Positivity is the key to living a successful life. What does it mean to remain positive? If you ever get a bad grade on a test instead of getting mad, go home and study so you can be prepared for the next test. When you fall do not lay there and pout, you get back up and try again. A positive attitude is continuing to push and think positive when you have fallen and think your are done. Good karma and success comes having…
Having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict, especially in time of war. In times of conflict there can be many different responses, but one of the best and most successful would be having a positive attitude. Other approaches to conflict often don’t end up the way most would like it to be. Other responses might end bad for the one in conflict, for instance it can end with the downfall of a country or it’s leadership. As an example, in the middle of WWII Winston Churchill took over as prime minister of Great Britain. He always had one hundred percent confidence that his people could win. Another example of a positive response is the letter titled Dear Mrs. Breed where a japanese child writes a letter to a librarian that donates books to children in the internment camps.…
A great example of this is Anne Frank. Anne Frank was a young Jew living in Nazi Germany. Her father published her diary after she died at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Anne’s diary held all of Anne’s feelings while she lived in her home, all the way to when she was forced into hiding. She faced harsh scenarios, yet used her diary to talk to, and remained happy with what she had. “Yesterday at lunchtime I had an appointment with the dentist on Jan Luykenstraat. It's a long way from our school on Stadstimmertuinen. That afternoon I nearly fell asleep at my desk. Fortunately, people automatically offer you something to drink. The dental assistant is really kind” (Frank). Another example showcasing the struggles to be positive is the story The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Two young boys, Bruno, the son of a highly ranked general in Germany, and Shmuel, an inmate in a Jewish concentration camp, become friends. They communicate through a large fence. Even though this story is fictional, it proves how positivity can affect one’s life. Shmuel was much happier when he was talking with Bruno, and vice versa. They enjoyed spending time together when possible. ““ I’m very glad you’re here,” he said, speaking with his mouth full. “If only you didn’t have to polish the glasses, I could show you my room”” (Boyne 385). However, neither seemingly understood the cruel ways of the Nazis, or why they lived in such different worlds… but they had each…
