Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets Analysis

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets start off with Harry spending the summer with his horrible but only remaining family, the Dursleys. The Dursleys are not a very good family. On Harry’s birthday the Dursleys throw a dinner party that isn’t even for Harry. Harry is visited by a house-elf named Dobby. Dobby warns Harry not to return to Hogwarts because something bad is going to happen. Hogwarts is the magical school for wizards that Harry is attending. Harry doesn’t listen to the warning and Dobby starts to wreak havoc in the kitchen. The Dursleys end up angry and imprison Harry in his room for the rest of the summer. Harry's friend Ron Weasley takes Harry away in a flying car, and they go to the Weasley home where Harry ends up staying
Harry tells the snake to stop going after one of the students but not realizing he's speaking to it in Parseltongue which is a snake language. The ability to speak to snakes is one of the things Salazar Slytherin was able to do he is a founder of the school and people think he was the one that opened and created the Chamber of Secrets. None of the other kids can understand Parseltongue because it’s not a common gift in Hogwarts and after what happened people are becoming a little scared of Harry because they think that Harry was the one encouraging the snake to attack Justin because he is not a pure-blood wizard. The whole school starts to believe that Harry is the Heir of Slytherin and that Harry was the one to open the chamber which makes most people want to stay away from
Harry commands it to open in Parseltongue, and the sink opens to reveal a tunnel to the Chamber of Secrets. Professor Lockhart tries to cast a curse with Ron's broken wand and instead it backfires on him and he is hit with it getting amnesia. The force of the hex collapses the tunnel making Harry trapped on one side of the tunnel facing the Chamber, while Ron and Professor Lockhart are on the other. Harry continues alone.
Harry finds Ginny unconscious with Tom Riddle near her. Tom explains that he has been using his diary to gain control of Ginny. He is able to take physical form because he is feeding off Ginny's soul. Tom forced Ginny to go into the Chamber in order to lure Harry to him. He wants to know how Harry was able to defeat Voldemort since Harry was just a baby and Voldemort was the greatest wizard. He knows all of this because he is
