Guy In Real Life Summary

Book Summary The book I read was Guy in Real Life, by Steve Brezeoff. When I first began reading this book I was very confused, because I didn’t realise there were three different point of views. There are two main characters, Lesh Tungsten and Svetlana Allegheny. They have unique names, something I wouldn’t hear everyday. Lesh Tungsten’s appearance described in the book is pretty plain. He wears a black trenchcoat, black t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and headphones around his neck every day. Lesh likes listening to heavy metal everyday and he’s comes off as an Emo 16 year old guy. He doesn’t have many friends, but his best friend’s name is Greg. Greg is his childhood best friend who also has not so smart friends, but is a great friend to Lesh.
The weird thing is, since he played as a female, gamers online believe he was a female in reality and Lesh took that as an advantage in leveling up in the game. Shortly in the book Lana spotted Lesh in the cafeteria sitting by himself listening to music and decides to sit with him to avoid Fry, a close family friend who has a crazy crush on her. Lana shows Lesh a few of her drawings in a sketchbook and also tells him about the gaming club. Sitting with each other becomes a routine till Fry comes up to Lesh and starts a fight, because of jealousy. Lana feels embarrassed so she eats in the library for a few weeks and Lesh misses her as he sits by himself at lunch. In the middle of the book Lesh ignores Svetlana and goes out with Greg and his friends to a bar and gets drunk. One of Greg’s friends, Jelly makes a move on him and they make out in the car. Lesh becomes hooked on Jelly a bit more than Lana after. I became angry at him, because he should’ve talked to Lana when he wanted to but instead he didn’t bother talking to her and avoided her. Svetlana attempts to talk to Lesh and invites him to the game club. Lana doubts he’ll go but he actually attends. After that, they go on speaking terms, reconnect with
