The heart is what some determine to be the most important organ in our bodies and one of the biggest contributors. It is one of the major organs that if we did not have, it would not be possible for us to live. The heart is about the size of a fist and is broken down into four chambers, the aorta, superior vena cava, pulmonary artery, and the coronary artery. The four chambers include the right and left atrium and the right and left ventricle. The heart is responsible for supplying oxygen and blood to the entire body. Blood passes through these four chambers and then exits and pumps into the rest of the body. The heart also has three layers of walls…

In the first scenario Drugs at a Friend’s House there is a moral problem. As an off-duty officer watching people snorting cocaine at a friend 's party must leave the premises immediately. Before leaving the premises, I will have to inform my friend about her friend 's use of illegal drugs at her own home, dispose the illegal drugs, throw out her friends from the property, and to also inform my good friend that next time it happens, that I will report it to the department, and make an arrest. Educating my friend, whether the she knew of the activity in the first place or not, will teach her that drug use is illegal and is not looked over by me. Eating a meal in 2050 will not change that much, but the way we order the food will. The entire table will be one big touch screen where you can see an interactive menu. The table will greet you as you sit down and offers everyone a drink. After a moment or two it asks if you’re ready to place your order. A server will bring you the food and clean the table. Due to all of the food allergies that are surfacing, food will be prepped in a completely different way. Just like our Xerox printer works mixing primary colors to make purple a food prep machine will be used to prepare meals for consistency and expediency. In the home, working parents will be able to use such machines to prepare nutritious meals without wasting time in the kitchen on extremely busy days.…

It was a dawning of a new age, an age of great dreams. Exiting the 1950s was new to everyone the 60s were approaching fast and for some not fast enough. Historically the stage was set the nation was coming out of a recession exiting the 1957-58 years and the presidential race had begun. Stood forth America was a young gentleman named John Kennedy who talked about change and that he was himself. He was young, charismatic, ready to lead and completely opposite his vice president, Richard Nixon. John Kennedy has even said privately “[Richard Nixon] has no taste”. (D. Faber), 1994.…

I learned from the personality profile in unit 3 that I am realistic, investigative, artistic, and social. Being realistic will help when I am faced with a difficult challenge and must come up with a solution. The fact that I am investigative will make it simple when I am taking a patients history. The artistic trait that I have will not assist me in my future career path unless I am working with children. I do not believe that I have all of the personality traits that are needed to be a medical assistant. There are a variety of traits I will personally need to work on before receiving my degree. I am not as detail oriented as I could be, nor do I currently have strong communication skills. I am, however, a very good listener and extremely dependable. (Murphy,…

Law assumption does indeed tie into how society functions and vice versa. The basic assumption that law is imbedded in society (Barkan 2009). I agree with this belief. Laws and society affect each other more than people tend to realize, there are a multitude of events that have occurred within our society in America that have forever changed how we operate within our country and how we operate outside of our country. As societies evolve so do the laws within those societies. Every event that occurs within that society will indeed have an affect on its local laws and rules established. For instance, after hurricane Katrina; the local citizens of New Orleans were trapped in the dome with no assistance from FEMA or any other agency. A nation was watching as those who had nothing had to pillage and plunder in order to survive. However, laws did in fact change. This event in society brought forth The Gulf Opportunity Zone Act of 2005. This act was created to give tax breaks to those people who had suffered casualties or theft during the hurricane.…

I had a great freshman year at IU where I could take almost any class and enjoy it, unlike high school where you had to take the exact same curriculum as your peers. After wrapping up my first year of college, one class especially stood out from many good courses that not only grabbed my attention but let my personality flourish, I101. I enrolled in this class because I’ve been interested in computers and technology from a young age. Little did I know, the course not only encompassed my fascination of computers, but dove into ethics and implications, subjects that I read about regularly and let me solve problems scientifically in a way that uniquely suited me. I enjoyed my time in the class learning topics such as python and databases. There…

In today’s world, in every country, there are so many people without enough food in their day. According to the New York Times, an entire meal was created from a 3D printer for a man and his wife that included pizza, pasta, and dessert. If it’s easy enough to make simple everyday foods like that, it would be so entirely easy to solve some of the world’s hunger.…
