graduation day
Graduation Day One of the biggest moments in life was graduation. Everybody looks forward to graduation day. I was looking forward to this day myself, but I had higher goals in mind. Hard work, dedication, and wise decision making helped me to accomplish my graduation goal. At the beginning I didn’t know how I was going to get there.

Hard work didn’t start senior year, it started my first day I entered high school. My teacher always told me if you sit towards the front the key is you do better. I went above and beyond to make sure I was at the top of doing everything I could. My freshman year in high school I received A’s and B’s. The grades weren’t just given to me, hard work paid off I accomplished the goal I set for myself.

June 8, 2013 finally came; I made it to graduation day. I was a Seventy-First graduate. My name was the 30th name called. I was so happy when I graduated! I felt that all of my hard work was finally being paid off! I also cried too because I felt that I wouldn't be able to see a lot of my close friends anymore, but nothing much has changed we all still keep in touch to be honest I thought I wouldn't miss being in high school at all, but I actually do because it was so much easier. And of course I do miss being with some of my friends. You are still in high school so enjoy it as much as you can .

I am not sure I could express into words how much I have grown and learned throughout this journey of my graduate degree with Capella. I had been wanting to go into this field for over 10 years, but didn’t have the opportunity to until a couple years ago. As soon as the opportunity came up, I dived right into it. Not knowing too much of the whole process of hours and requirements, all I knew was that I loved helping people and had a passion for it. I have been so fortunate to have the support of my family and more importantly my two beautiful girls. It has been a major sacrifice for them being a single parent going back to school. There has been many times that I rather no count that we couldn’t go do certain things because I had a paper to write. At first it didn’t matter to me to attend graduation, but seeing all the hard work that I have put into doing the best I could and the sacrifices they have made I want them to also join in the celebration because I am proud of them too.…

Its my Junior year in High School, so far its been the BEST but the MOST challenging. I have compared myself from this year to my freshman and sophomore years, I think I have matured and become more responsible and organized with school and personal life. I have seen my report card this year and my grades have IMPROVED compared to my last two years. I do not go out and party anymore, I stay home with my family and I study more often now and actually finish all of my school work. This year has been Very challenging for me because since I have slacked my two important years in high school and never paid attention, some of my classes are difficult for me to understand and complete the work.…

Last year had to by far be the toughest year for me in high school. I grew away from many people that I considered some of my closest friends. I also suffered academically because I began to spend less time doing work and being focused on less important things. I got caught up in unnecessary drama, went on my first college visits, and met new people in the matter of one year. Not only did I grow as a person, I grew as an athlete, I grew as a sibling, and I grew as a young woman. My junior year allowed me to develop my expectations for myself in life and my expectations for the people who I choose to surround myself with. This was the year that I decided who I would want to become in the future.…

As I walk through the double doors leading into the crazy hallways of Mission Bay I spotted my friends all talking outside of our first hour class, Spanish III. I walk over to them and joined into the conversation of last years and legacies they wanted to leave on the students. My friends and I were the 100th graduating class to come from that high school, so everyone expected us to come up with something great to leave behind.…

When I was seventeen, I dropped out of high school. For me this was not a good choice, and as time went on I regretted not finishing school. In 1999, five years after I dropped out, I decided to get my GED. The day the mail came and I opened up the envelope with my GED inside of it, I was the happiest person on the planet. I called everyone I knew to let them know I would be having a cap and gown ceremony. Words cannot describe the joy I felt at knowing that I had finally finished school. This day will be a day that I never forget.…
