The Goo Goo Dolls would have to be one of today’s greatest alternative rock bands. They are known best for their hit songs, such as Iris, Name, Slide, and Here is Gone. However, the Goo Goo Dolls do not stop there; they have recently written and recorded the song Before It’s To Late for the soundtrack of Transformers. This song is also the theme song for the main characters in the movie, Sam and Mikaela. The soundtrack for Transformers came out on July 3, 2007; which included performers such as The Used, Smashing Pumpkins, and Linkin Park. The soundtrack produced by Dairmuid Qunn and Jeff Aldrich under Warners Brothers Records, debuted at number 21 on the U.S Billboard 200, selling about 32,000 copies within its first week. The Goo Goo Dolls formed in 1986 with John Rzeznik (vocals, guitar), Robby Takac (vocals, bass guitar), and George Tutuska (drums) in Buffalo, New York. The band was originally called Sex Maggot but when they booked their first show, they were asked to change their name due to the in ability of printing the name into the newspapers.
