imFugitive Denim- Reflection Statement and Discussion
During last week’s group discussion, we provided a brief introduction to the book. Part 1- provides an interesting framework for understanding issues with strong economic, political and business ties. Provide a 1 page synopsis of the global markets, apparel and textile industries and the major implications as a result of the WTO major trade decisions. Be sure to include your insight on the situation as presented within the first section of the book. Part I- Recap

There are a number of ways of looking at the World Trade Organization. It is an organization for trade opening. It is a forum for governments to negotiate trade agreements. It is a place for them to settle trade disputes. It operates a system of trade rules. Essentially, the WTO is a place where member governments try to sort out the trade problems they face with each other. The WTO was born out of negotiations, and everything the WTO does is the result of negotiations. The bulk of the WTO’s current work comes from the 1986–94 negotiations called the Uruguay Round and earlier negotiations under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade/ Where countries have faced trade barriers and wanted them lowered, the negotiations have helped to open markets for trade. But the WTO is not just about opening markets, and in some circumstances its rules support maintaining trade barriers — for example, to protect consumers or prevent the spread of disease. (WTO.COM) And basically my insight on reveals that I like how the WTO is set but yet they do not look in enough depths to me. There are still sweat shops that exists and those companies to trade throughout the states and many other foreign states. To say that a lot of people to find sweat shops right they still purchase the items. And as far as the book it is basically informing on how it actually goes down from the in and outs.
