The development of technology has changed the environments that children grow up in. Today children experience a wide range of technology from an early age. Research indicates that computers are widespread and becoming an increasingly important part of children’s life (Li and Atkins, 2004). With the increased number of computer in home, children are exposed to computers from early childhood. As educators incorporate computers into the curriculum and instruction in school, early childhood educators are emphasizing the importance of appropriate use of computers in early childhood classrooms. Although the effects computers have on children’s education and development are still discussed, computers are increasingly used in preschool educational institutions. The National Association for Education of Young Children the leading association and accreditation organization in the early childhood field, strongly suggest that technology should be integrated into early childhood practice physically, functionally and philosophically asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd asd adsa da sd asda dsa dsas djngfrneldnl f sbf gfd gdngdncvCHAPTER I
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
A. Background of the study Frequent computer usage is the excessive use of computers to the extent that it interferes with daily life. Excessive use may explain problems in social interaction, mood, personality, work ethic, relationships, thought processes, or sleep deprivation. The researchers wanted to know the effects of frequent computer usage in the academic performance of the respondents. They wanted to know whether their poor grade is due to frequent computer usage or not.

    Babies and young children inhabit an evolving world of information, computers and technology (ICT). Children should be given opportunities form a young age to experience, learn and participate in ICT within the learning environment, enabling developing skills in their PSED and other learning areas. I conducted a small scale research project amongst two different early year’s settings to look into how ICT can be imbedded within PSED alongside other areas of development for pre-school age children.
