Free Education Argumentative Essay
Today I am going to talk about the free education debate that was done in class on Tuesday in class. The affirmative side was arguing that the United States of America should adopt Bernie Sander College for All Act. Their reasoning was that the student debt rate has gotten out of hand and that we need to better approach on how to deal with this rising debt. The evidence they presented was how the college system in Germany and Denmark have free education and how it working out for them. The also provide statistic on the debt in America compared to the debt in another countries. The stated the education is a right that should be given to everyone. The also showed the average debt that the students have accumulated since entering college. The negative side was debating that we don’t need to adapt to Bernie Sander College for All Act. They argued this on the reasoning that yes we have a lot of American in debt but it would not be in America best interest to adopt this plan. The also went against the affirmative and stated that higher education is a privileges, that if we made it free people would stop seeing the value of it. The also went into detail on how just because it worked for other countries doesn’t mean that it going to work for Americans. When people usually go into an argument there emotion usually takes over. But when learning how to debate you have to learn to think from multiple sides. It also helps in learning how to gather information and presented in a manner that will help the side that you are on. Debate helps with the exchanging of idea because you get to hear other side to the topic. Usually we are always so one sided when it comes to debates, this gives us the opportunity to hear from another side. They can bring in new idea and solution that many have never thought of
