Free College Admissions Essays: My Special Objects
My Special Object

“He is so cute” says the nurse. “What is his name” it is chase said my mom. My mom came in with a soft yellow blanket with little mice on it and cheese. When I saw the blanket my eyes locked on to it. Once I got it I was unbelievably happy.
Once I got out of the doctor office and got home It stayed with me everywhere I went. I knew I would love this object because I got it when I was born and it was really soft. I asked my mom where she got this object and she got it at the store in the hospital. She told me she didn’t buy it. The doctor that pulled me out paid for it. I really have to thank my doctors because I was born with something that I would never want to eat but they pushed through with me and got me to eat.

My parents, like countless immigrants, relocated my family of five in pursuit of the highly sought after “American Dream.” The excitement quickly wore off once I was confronted with the realization that we will now be residing in a one bedroom, one bathroom basement apartment in Brooklyn, New York. While my parents attempted to provide for my brothers and me, I undertook the task of mastering the English language. In contrast to my classmates, my learning recommenced after school; I spent countless hours reviewing index cards struggling to obtain a grasp of the English language. For added support I attended an English as a second language class, where I received one on one attention. The alienation from the classmates that surpassed me with ease triggered feelings of inadequacy; this only fueled my determination to succeed.…

Throughout this novel there are a lot of characters worthy of comparing and contrasting, however I've decided to analyze Matsu, and Stephen relationship. The black notes stuck to the paper lifeless and perplexing. Staffs, treble clef, whole notes, quarter notes, what's the difference? Sitting and profoundly staring at my music sheets, attempting to make sense of the madness, music began to play. The music notes danced in animation as the piano played it's melody. The choral program began to expand my knowledge as: it required toilsome learning and understanding, it taught that hard work and practice was necessary while rewarding positive results, it also enlightened that in order to succeed one must put passion into everything they do.…
