The Duties of a forensic investigator will be different and that depends on the area where a detective work in and the types of crimes detective specifically investigate. Forensic investigator will be in charge of collecting evidence at any crime scene and perform spot experiments on certain part of evidence.

o Arranging and collecting DNA samples for lab testing if available.
o Gathering fingerprints from weapons and surfaces at a crime scene
o Planning and figuring out the Locating traced evidence for further examination

o Safely shifting gathered evidence from a crime scene to the laboratory.
o Noticing reports during the time of collection of evidence.

Forensic investigators typically work all days until investigation report got submitted, but there are times when investigators may need to work long hours on an extensive case. Investigators work with a team of other technicians trying to solve a case, and they often have to take on extra duties to get the work done for any investigation. As long as investigator have a clear understanding of criminal investigation, he/she should have no trouble managing all of the responsibilities needed of forensic
