Documentaries are usually constructed to portray one point of view, whether it is a negative or positive point of view. Food Inc directed by Robert Kenner, presents a many ideas about how the fast food industry is affecting the ways in which Americans eat. They do this by showing one perspective instead of both. Food Inc doesn’t explore in to detail the positive aspects of fast food; they are just focusing on the negative. They construct the documentary using techniques such as expert opinions, Interviews and statistics to present certain ideas throughout the documentary.…

Ever wondered where the food you eat came from? The documentary Food Inc. does exactly that. This film is made by Robert Kenner and Eric Scholosser about the food industry here in America. It focuses on the food industry being a few giant corporations who control everything we eat. The main argument the film brings is that the food industry is very immoral and the government is not doing everything they can to maintain quality, which is putting the public safety at risk. The different views add perspective and each individual is experienced and credible. Their knowledge of the food industry and its inner workings are evident. This increases the likelihood of the audience believing everything said and shown in the film. Food Inc. reveals that companies only care about the profit, not the animals, consumers, workers, or environment. The film attempts to get the audience to feel sympathy for their cause, and call for action.…

Most off our food is handled and processed by somebody else. The truth is Americans don’t have the time to farm and nor do the dirty bits. In America, whoever does the best in the fourth quarter controls how things will run, with the ever growing hunger for wealth there is no limit to what can be achieved. An American Filmmaker, Robert Kenner, released a documentary Food Inc, a perfect example of greed and disregard for what can be considered ethical in the food industry. Kenner was inspired to make this film after reading Fast Food Nation to show how portray the whole supermarket has become industrialized almost resembling the fast-food industries. The documentary Food Inc. is about slaughter houses, food manufacturing, and other food related subsets. The film relies heavily on visuals and also the commentary used statistics and facts creating attitude.…

After watching the film Food, Inc. I gain knowledge on parts of our food industry that was unknown to me. When it comes to the United States food industry our way of production in my opinion is very wrong and cruel. I know many people love meat and I’m a meat eater as well but why put the animals through this process of getting the meat. The process is very disturbing. The meat that we are receiving in the stores is not being thoroughly inspected. Many of the cows that were shown in the video were sick from malnutrition yet they were still slaughtered for ground beef and other beef portions .What is wrong with our food safety is that when there is an outbreak the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) don’t step in until it affects that whole state, the illness is severe and the food as to be a FDA regulated product as stated by the Food Safety.gov. I’m my opinion I don’t understand that process of letting the state handling food borne outbreaks until that it’s too much for them then getting the FDA involved. It makes more since to get the FDA involved at the beginning so the illness wants spread as much and want affect as many people. As stated by the U.S. Department of health Studies and FDA they are having a hard time trying to decrease food borne illness breakouts because there is a increase in consumer demand for food that is less processed and in return that makes food distribution more complex when trying to find the source of the illness or the cause for the outbreak. So basically until they can be able to break down and identify the main source of food we as a nation will always have that challenge. There is so much that goes into food production today that it’s hard for the FDA and CDC to control food borne disease and outbreaks are becoming larger than ever. Each year the FDA and CDC gather reports and compare them to previous…

Tata Chemicals Limited had first started with the objective of providing agri inputs to the farmers through the Tata Kisan Kendras (exclusive franchised retail outlets of Tata) but realizing the need of the hour, moved its proposition from ‘one-stop agri input shop’ to ‘one-stop farmers solution shop’ with a clear objective of empowering the farmers. The Tata Kisan Kendras were therefore re-launched as Tata Kisan Sansar (TKS-Tata Farmers’ World)-a rural agri-retail outlet offering entire range of agri services including quality agri input products in the year 2004.Thereafter, the focus has been to de-link the business dependence for the franchisee as well as the organization from the traditional fertilizer business and provide value added products as well as innovative services to the farmers.…

    Self-Sufficiency in Food

    • 3723 Words
    • 15 Pages

ONE of the redeeming features of our economic development during the last four decades has been the steady increase in food-grain production despite all odds, both natural and man-made. The country barely produced enough food grains to feed the population when it emerged as an independent nation. The total production of food grains (mainly rice) was less than 10 million tonnes in 1972-73. Scarcity of food, mal-distribution and incorrect polices contributed to a devastating famine in 1974 in which tens of thousands of people perished. The famine left an indelible mark on the psyche of the government since then. The attainment of self-sufficiency in food production became a major objective of economic policy notwithstanding the fact that serious doubts were raised if the famine was due mainly to a food…
