First Trimester Research Paper
Giving birth to a child is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen a woman do. The whole time my girlfriend was pregnant I could not help but wonder what was really going on in that stomach. The baby actually goes through three full stages of development called trimesters. Each trimester is very important in a pregnancy. The first trimester develops all of your baby’s systems and major organs. In your second trimester your little alien will start to take shape and look more human every day, and your third trimester will wrap everything up and get that baby ready to take its first breath and drive mom and dad crazy for the next eighteen years. (Kashtan, 2011). In my article I will break down the three trimesters a pregnancy goes through in order to create god’s gift to every parent. …show more content…
On the third week of your first trimester is when your baby is conceived. Your baby starts off right away forming its major organs like its heart, kidneys, liver and stomach. As soon as week six your baby begins developing facial features like eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and a chin. By this point your baby is forming his arms and legs, and growing a hundred new brain cells per minute. By week eight your baby can move its arms, legs, toes and fingers. To wrap up the first trimester your baby’s vital organs are starting to function, your baby is building muscle, systems are completely formed, bones and cartilage are forming, and you can see the baby’s heart beat with an ultrasound. Most babies are born around the 40th week of pregnancy. Only 3% of babies arrive exactly on time. Some are a week early or a week late. Babies who are born earlier than the 37th week are known as premature. Premature babies are likely to need more time to reach the same developmental targets as babies born around the 40th week. Many people think that babies are helpless when they are born, but in reality they are born with the ability to do a quite a few things. They can recognise their mothers voice and smell. They are able to cry to let everyone they need help. They also actively learn about their new world through their senses, particularly touch, taste and sound.…

Physical Development – This is where the formation of a person will start, it starts off when the sperm fuses with the egg and from then development will happen right through the weeks. It will start off with the head, notochord and spinal cord developing. From then on more features will branch off and develop. At three weeks you have the embryo becoming c shaped and the umbilical cord starts to form. Then at five weeks your organs will start forming slowly these would include your gut, stomach, liver, start getting your heart bulge and intestinal loop. Then up to six weeks when your eyes are visible and mouth, this is where the ears and nose will start forming while your limps grow rapidly from tiny buds. Then at eight weeks the face is more human and the tail is gone. During the remaining months all the organs have developed. At 20 weeks the foetus would have reached half of its length before birth. By 32 weeks the foetus would have reached half its weight before birth. Finally at 9 months it will be born it will be fully developed and ready to start life as a child.…

After the decision to conceive and conception takes place the mother will experience the process of pregnancy. During the last trimester of the pregnancy the woman will at some point enter the first of three stages of labor.
