The “First Lady of the United States” is the title of the hostess of the White House, a position that is usually filled by the wife of the United States president. Other than that, the role carries no specific duties or responsibilities, Therefore, each woman who holds the title reshapes it, based upon personal experience and how she wants to use those experiences. The style and choice of what to with the role also reflects on the times in which she lives. I would like to present a comparison between two First Ladies; the currently serving Michelle Obama and one of her predecessors, the late Jacqueline Kennedy and show how this is expressed. Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994) was born in Southampton, NY to a wealthy Catholic family, which provided private schooling and wide opportunities.
