Bill of Rights – Persuasive Essay
Of all the Amendments we have, there are 10 main ones. Out of the ten main ones, I personally believe that the First Amendment is the most important one. There is a reason why this amendment is so important. The reason this amendment is so important because it protects the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.
One of the freedoms the First Amendment protects is religion. Freedom of religion supports the right for people to practice any religion of choice in public or private. It also includes the freedom to change or religion or not follow one at all. This is very important because nobody should ever be told how to practice his or her own religion or what religion to follow. Everybody is different, and we all see reli gion differently.
Freedom of speech is also a very important factor of the First Amendment. Freedom of speech is the right to communicate ideas verbally. This right is used in everyday life and is very popular. There are some limits to this, though, such as libel, slander, obscenity and incitement to commit a crime . The freedom of speech lets everybody state their opinions and know that it's OK as long as they are not slandering anybody.
Freedom of the press, also known as freedom of the media, is the right to express ideas using electronic media and published material s. There is a limit to freedom of the press, just like freedom of speech. The things people publish or say
have to be true and cannot be libel. People can get their points across through many different ways, so that's good, right?
Freedom of assembly, sometimes known as freedom of association, is the right to gather together and express, promote, pursue or defend a common interest amongst the people. If you don’t like something and want to protest against it, good news, you can. W ant to come together in support of something? You can do that, too. Let your voice be heard!
