When the Song of the Pearl appeared in Kino’s head he had a feeling that there were some hope in finding the pearl. Kino wanted to find the pearl to help receive medical treatment for his son. When the pearl the reader thought Kino and his wife were superstition when they found the pearl because Kino and his wife didn’t want to upset the gods by showing excitement or eagerness in opening the oyster. The pearl is a force for good things, and later in the novel we find out that the pearl will become a force for great evil. The pearl prevents such injustices to Kino and his family.
