I had a field day for all the children and bigs on the last day with us meeting with our littles. For me to do the field, I had to go through a meeting with Kresta Byington, the principal of the elementary to see if I could get all twenty littles excused. Following with that I had to make a meeting with Jason Nelson the principal of the high school to get all twenty bigs out of their sixth period class. To accommodate for each and every child involved. After that, I needed to make the flyer to inform all the teachers of the program. The only thing that really interfered with this was the date. Our first activity was a mummy race! For this activity, you put together two pairs of bigs and littles. The pair would pick the fastest runner on their team and they were “the mummy”. The others would stand by themselves at the three stations, and the mummy would run to each station with their toilet paper in one hand and their pride in the other. At the first station they would get their legs wrapped. At the second, they would get their upper body and arms wrapped. At the final station, they would get their head wrapped. The point of this game was to teach leadership and teamwork. The goal was to be the first to use their entire roll of toilet paper, and the winning team would be awarded with …show more content…
That's very vague I know, but I love being there for people when they need it most. Something about the way of being there for someone is beyond special in every way. Within High School I was a Volleyball Captain and had received, Most Valuable Player. This was a huge part of my life, as it built more confidence inside me that I never knew I could portray. Being a leader and teaching people how to become better players and to uplift your peers when they were down was a huge building block in my personality. Another thing I secretly enjoy doing is working out. I like the way my body feels, all those endorphins releasing and putting my in a better mood. Its truly an incredible feeling that for sure.
I have given a lot of my extra time into volunteer activities within high school and after for example, 30 hours for Pacific County Fair Gates, 10 hours for Hearts for Arts Dinner, 10 hours for Democratic Crab Feed, 135 hours for South Bend High School Shot Clock, 30 hours for South Bend High School Main Clock, 4 hours for Caspar Babypants Concert , 40 hours for Big Sisters/Big Brothers Program, 10 hours for Raymond Pool Volunteer Clean up, 4 hours for ELC Concert, and 5 hours for Kohls Volunteer

The realization of how powerful education is dawned upon me for the first time when I started teaching my domestic help’s son during my free time after high school. As empowering as it was, I took it as a responsibility to do my best to help him in his studies. His innocence and playfulness redefined childhood for me, as I myself became a child with him, enjoying the little pleasures of mentoring the kid. However,…

The questions we came up with ranged from teachers that had an influence on us to how we would like to decorate our classrooms. Daniela and I each wish to teach a different grade so the answers each of us gave were the same in many ways but also had their own personal touch.…

Teachers and teacher educators should not have any negative mentalities towards the children because this shows that the teachers do not appreciate their full potential, and for that, teachers do not recognize the kids of who they could become. “We are not raising rocket scientist here.” stated the tall, blond lady. By her saying this, she puts a negative thought into the children head that they are not smart enough and they are only good at their artistic skills. Nilsa Marino argues, “I am sure that the children enjoy their artistic side, as I enjoy mine in addition to my work as a teacher and scholar.” She back up with this statement to show the tall blond lady that as a Latina, her too could be a scholar.…

She credited Playhouse and Jeanine Ginsberg for educating her and influencing her parenting style. When Lisa was a “Playhouse Parent” she was always very involved with the school. She would frequently visit the school to help whenever help was needed and she would often sign up to co-op in the classrooms her children were enrolled in. When her children left Playhouse to move onto Elementary school, she did not want to leave the environment of Playhouse. Lisa decided to run to be on the advisory board and also substituted in the school for about two years after…

Being an elementary school teacher is a highly rewarding profession. Building the academic foundation of young minds can be challenging, but is incredibly worthwhile. If you are considering becoming an elementary school teacher, here are the top ten reasons why you may want to take the leap into the classroom:1. You have a broad appreciation of school subjects. To be an elementary school teacher, you have to be versed in a variety of subjects, such as reading, math, science, and social studies. Your students might go to a special teacher for art, computers, and language, but otherwise you are in charge of their entire curriculum. Being an elementary school teacher is great for an individual who enjoys teaching and learning about different subjects, and who does not want to feel limited by teaching only one subject.2. You like kids.Otherwise, you would not be considering teaching. If you like kids, elementary school is a great place to interact with them. You can shape their minds, create innovative ways for them to learn, and help them grow to their fullest potential. And if you are already an elementary school teacher and do not like kids - you might want to think about changing jobs!3. You are good with kids.We established about that you like them, but it takes much more than liking kids to be able to work with your students.
