Groupon, Incorporated (Groupon) is a national e-commerce marketplace that connects local merchants to local consumers by offering goods and/or services at a discount. Each day Groupon e-mails its subscribers discounted offers for goods and services that are targeted by demographics and/or filtered by personal preference. National merchants also have used the company’s marketplace as an alternative to traditional marketing and brand advertising. Currently, Groupon does most of its marketing and advertising on the internet and on the following cellular phones: Android, Blackberry, and the iPhone. After conducting research, it appears Groupon has a niche market, which consists of individuals who have expensive phones and/or are computer savvy. Because a large amount of people use different coupons and may not be computer savvy, my team is putting together a marketing plan that will allow for Groupon to increase its marketability with an older generation and enhance the marketing plan they currently utilize to attract these customers.…

In DuBois’s argument, he states that he considers Booker T. Washington’s approach “the most striking thing in the history of the American Negro since 1876.” He argues that even though Washington did not come up with the first industrial school, he was, however, the first to team up with a school that focuses on trades with the best southerners. DuBois goes on to state Washington is not responsible for the policy of submission for African Americans, even though he was partially a promotion of it, and was in some part a result of disenfranchisement of the Negro. Dubois also discusses that some black Americans were not happy with Booker T. and they did not agree with what he did. I for one, think that is foolish considering he was the only one to take charge and fight for what is right. DuBois also discusses how black men can argue against Washington within reason even though he was an important leader in the black movement and he recommends only praising the good that came with Washington’s ideas and only keeping in mind your opinions on his address.…

Troy Maxson transforms into a lonely, unloved, fearful man from his original position as the center of attention in his family and social world. Though he constantly tries to escape his life, Troy Maxson tries to engage life and challenge Death because he believes in himself and his convictions, however illusionary they may be. Troy begins by confronting his employees about their discriminatory practices, he boasts to his best friend Bono and family member that he is not afraid of death and he keeps a secret that he thinks he can get away with about his affair with Alberta. Shown through the three Fridays interspersed in Fences, Troy rapidly descends into a lonely, friendless and loveless life when his fears, his anger and his secrets get the better of him, causing his loved ones to lose their respect for him and to change their life so that they do not depend on his presence anymore. Troy forfeits his role of loving and devoted husband, generous and responsible parent and loyal, honest and inspiring friend. Troy goes from juggling two relationships with women to having none. Troy calls the risky action of having an affair with Alberta, "stealing second." If that is how Troy plays ball at the beginning of the play, then one could say he ends the play as a benchwarmer.…

The Elaine Race Riot happened in 1919, it was when a white group killed two hundered African Americans, and only five white people. This was the first time the government had ever done anything about a race-based crime in the south. It was the deadliest and bloodiest racial act in Arkansas that has happened. It happened on September 30, 1919, it was a shooting that happened during a Progressive Farmers and Household Union meeting. They had a meeting because one black sharecroppers wanted better pay checks for cotton from white owners, and this wasn’t the first time this has happened either. They sat guards outside the church during the meeting so there wouldn’t be any disruptions. Because of that, W.A. Adkins a white security officer had died, and Charles Pratt a white deputy sheriff was wounded. Later on, Another Sheriff arrested the suspects that were sitting in a car in front of the church; he figured they were involved someway. They were kind of scared to go to that part of Philips County because the number of African American out numbered the number of whites. They had to send out a telegram to get more soldiers and after they arrived they held a couple hundred African Americans so they could give them their alibi and be questioned. Although they was trying to fix the problem, the mobs of white people killed African American all around Elaine some of the troops even began to help the mobs, that they also tortured them to get information out of them. Colonel Jenks the head of the troops only put down that they had killed two African Americans. After that, they formed a Committee of Seven so they could investigate the problems. They worked really hard and tried to find out what was going on.…
