Farewell-12
Today, as I stand here and speak, I recollect the day the FIITJEE batch joined this prestigious school two years ago. We all came from different schools and boards, with mixed feelings. Some of joy, some of intrigue and some of apprehension of how this school would accept us and what was in store for us to this day.
Today when I ponder, I wonder where those two years went.....They simply fleeted by happily on the sands of time and have ushered us to this day. For the second time in our lives, we face the enormous task of bidding adieu to our friends, our teachers, our peers and a part of our lives. Today, another chapter of our lives ends with advent of a shining new one beckoning us! It is, undeniably difficult to say to goodbye to what better way to do it than celebrate? Celebrate the fact that we, entering these walls as saplings and having been nurtured and cared for by our dear teachers, can now call ourselves young trees, ready to face the world and whatever comes with it. I take this opportunity to thank all our teachers and the administrative staff of this wonderful school for the guidance, love and care bestowed on us over these years. It has been a matter of pride to belong to this institution and we look forward to an unending association with the staff and school.
We shall not be dismayed at goodbyes because a farewell is necessary before we can meet again in life. I would like to close with a quote of Winston Churchill says,” This is not the end, his not even the beginning of the end, It is instead the end of the beginning.
Thank You & cheers to a new beginning !

Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…

Moreover, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for extending on your role as a teacher and becoming a person in which I can confide in. As a class, we have endured changes throughout the years from being split up in the classroom ( Port Allen on one side and Erwinville on the other) as if we were on the bus with Rosa Parks to being untied, from having a teacher and coming back from Christmas break wondering who was going teach us geometry, a change in administration, down to dances from the dougie to “jiggin” and now to dabbin. Through it all I am glad to say we made it; we survived ebola, Oscar Proud, the Predator, Maleficent. Ms. Morgan’s test, Ms. Roger’ solid advice, and the King of Shade worksheets Mr. Seal’s himself. Also for some of you relationship after relationship. All of these good…

We have gathered here today to bid farewell to the students of MBA Final Year. I am indeed honoured to be given this opportunity to represent the students of MBA I Year. Just when we start to get comfortable with a person, something comes to alter the recipe. In this context, I would like to mention that for the past few months, we have indeed worked very closely together to organise various College activities which has helped us forge close ties of friendship. And now, before we know, its time to say 'Adieu'.…

A lovely evening to all! Tonight I may say, to all of us seniors, let us congratulate ourselves for we all have been doing so great to make this tale of our lives as fulfilling as we want it and as adventurous as we make it. In four years of staying here in this institution, I may conclude that counting the wonderful moments that we shared in our high school days is a mind-boggling thing because even the depressing ones that we lived through contributed in helping us to become what we are today. Yes, even being “pasaways” in front of our teachers, all are considered factors that made this experience complete and of course, a perfect one. And if we are going to look at it, everything happened in a blast but, much unnoticed. When I made my first footsteps in this school in the early days of my freshman year, one thing I can’t forget is our innocent selves, just like a blind person who seeks the right path, looking for the white light behind the darkness of that innocence. By all means, we looked for the knowledge we need and we craved for the wisdom we must possess before we depart from this home, from this family. We were so curious about all the things that we encountered everyday but we did not know to whom we must hold on and how to distinguish right from wrong. And because of such blindness, receiving only the radiance of the twilight, some succeeded in knowing all the essential things to be remembered and to be understood by the heart but others got lost and failed to know the indispensable truth of life. We have encountered many things as high school students but still, our journey will not stop after this stage. And I’m very proud that we never lose hope when failures and disappointments come our way. We defended what we love, and fought for what we believed in. And as for you, the juniors, in a few more days, your job will be to continue the unfinished tasks we will leave behind as we sail in our respective ships to discover new oceans. In behalf of the…

    Graduation Speech

First of all, I would like to thank you all for coming to our graduation. What this ceremony is, is a celebration of a major accomplishment in our lives, the accomplishment of achieving an education. For many of us it has taken a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to get here, so today is our reward for the long hours we devoted to reading, writing, and researching, for the stress of taking difficult tests, and for the difficulties we have had to overcome. Though this ceremony recognizes OUR efforts in this accomplishment, it also recognizes and pays homage to the dedication of our parents. Today is the return on the work they invested in us through patient teaching and parenting. We would not have been able to accomplish this much without their help. Their guidance has allowed us to grow into men and woman of character, capable of doing great things. This ceremony is also both an end, and a beginning. It is the end of childhood, of a period of growing and maturing. But, it is also the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, one that is full of the promise of what we may accomplish. While I have the time I want to address the accomplishments of the past as well as the promise and potential of the future.…

Saying farewell to a person, or even the thought of doing so is quite a shuddering idea to look into. This is quite hard when deep bonds are forged and lifelong friendships are made between many people. Imagine the thoughts of some of the students in the school when they learned that the twelfth graders are to soon depart from their beloved school and go on to make their lives. Even though this is in fact a normal passage of life in all schools, this is in fact the first batch of students to leave the school, so this is quite a new thought in everyone’s mind, but nonetheless, the fact that someone is leaving and perhaps could not be seen again is an eerie thought, and something you don’t want to have. Students, not wanting to ponder upon the twelfth graders time of departure, but wishing to celebrate and enjoy every single second left with the departing, decided to give a farewell party, to give a grand exit with great hopes and lots of luck to those who will leave soon.…

We have waited for this moment all our lives, the moment when we leave our childhood behind and step into the world to forge our own paths in life. We have counted down the years, the months, the hours, minutes and seconds, and finally, that moment has arrived.
