Facebook Relationships Vs Life relationships
Facebook Relationships vs. Real Life Relationships People have relationships with others every day. These relationships consist of social network like Facebook; they also have real life relationships, like close family members or people that live around them. These two types of relationships are completely different. They are different in that people change their personalities, how they talk to people, and how they make themselves look. These two types of communication have a lot in common but also have a lot that id different. A lot of people would rather use social networks, such as Facebook, to interact with friends instead of seeing them in person. With Facebook, you can create a profile to let others get to know how you want them to know you. If you’re a shy person or you’re just not the live social kind of person, Facebook is an easy way of having friends. This allows you to be friends with whoever you want even if you don’t know them. Even if you don’t usually hang with that type of person, on here is doesn’t matter. You don’t have to feel as if you don’t fit in nor do you have to talk any certain way because no one can see you. This helps you feel way more confident in having a social life. If you really want to you can hide who you really are and make everything up. No one knows because it’s just a website. All of this will help you keep your social life and also your confidence.
Other people still enjoy person to person relationships. Interacting with other people lets you get to know the real side of people. With this type of relationship you get to be around the person and enjoy doing social activities. For some people this relationship is hard because they are either shy, or just don’t feel like they fit in. You also have to watch how you talk to people and treat people so that it doesn’t end up in a fight. This also changes the way you pick your friends for certain reasons. People don’t just become friends with people they don’t know face to

Some of the effect of the ever-growing social networking is the lack of face to face interaction. Now websites such as Facebook allow you to find your long lost friend but hinders the ability to go out and meet friends face to face. The question remains does it help or does it hinders a person’s interaction ability. In my opinion it helps that person get over the social anxieties and be able to communicate so when a person meets face to face it is not so awkward and being able to communicate builds confidence when speaking. There was an article in the New York Times where they asked this very same question. Which state that “If anything, Facebook has helped me sift through the friends I’m happy with keeping at arm’s length by offering the perfect vehicle to do it through. “(Wortham, 2011). Being able to sort out your friends and like Wortham stated at an arm’s length it helps.…

Whether it be facebook, instagram, twitter , pinterest , tumblr , or snapchat . Social media is another phone. It is how we connect. In this day and age it is almost a part of life. Many people prefer to speak to a person over the internet as opposed to speaking over the phone or go and meet up with the same person. NBC news did a coverage on this issue. In their article they stated that “Many kids don’t understand the basics of simple conversation…with so much communication happening online or via text, kids have few opportunities to see manners and good communication in action, and even fewer chances to practice.” (McCready, Amy “Don’t Let Technology Rob Kids of Social Skills” pg 1). Social skills are pivotal to a person’s success in life. Without them it will be very arduous to build trusting relationships with others. If a person does not know how to approach unexpected situations in a work environment it will be very difficult for them to maintain a job . Another benefit of social skills is that if you know how to interact with others you can be happier. Great interpersonal skills could give you the confidence to discuss your ideas clearly with others. In addition to this if you can socialize with others you will be more comfortable going out to social events such as dinners , parties , ceremonies , carnivals , or even amusement…

Facebook is great because it is a way for people to keep in contact with their friends, see what others are up to, and show people all the new updates, without having to constantly call them every day. Additionally, people lose phones, change numbers, etc., so if you don't keep in close contact you might lose touch, but with Facebook, and you always have the same profile. It is also fairly easy to find more information about someone since one has access to their page. After had my own profile on Facebook in 2008, and the new feature New Feeds was introduced, I have never really felt socially unconnected from anyone. I feel like I have been forced not to be. Moreover, Facebook maybe is the only way I know how to interact with some people. People from classes I barely know but need as a friend to keep me reminded of homework assignments; that awkward first in-person meeting is completely rooted out when I can just post on their wall, or better yet send them a private message. I have to admit that Facebook has saved my education quite a few times.…

Some debate that Facebook, and other social networking sites are undermining our ability to communicate and the use of such sites dehumanise what is an important part of community life and living together. However, if anything, I believe these social networking websites allow us the opportunity to meet and form friendships with people that we may not otherwise communicate with and to create these friendships faster. They allow us to keep in contact with friends and family, whether they are in our own city or on the other side of the world, with greater ease. In today’s fast paced environment nobody has time to sit down daily and respond to individual emails; Facebook and MySpace allow us to reach all of our friends and colleagues with a simple click of a button. For the introverts among us, social networking eliminates the pressure of face to face contact and can help those shy people with the initial contact of meeting others. Facebook’s photo sharing application is rated the most used on the Internet, drawing more than twice as much traffic as the next three sites combined. These statistics show a great emphasis on the online community, especially when 14 million photos are being uploaded every day. With active users doubling every six months and more than half of active users returning daily it is clear to see people all over the world are embracing the convenience of social networking.…

It has now become easier for people to meet new friends on online platforms. The patience that is required to build a long lasting relationship is no longer there. Traditionally, people would spend days and even months trying to get to know each other. This was not done over the phone but through face-to-face interactions that made it possible for people to learn each other. This helped to grow the relationship from one level to another. However, the Internet has made it impossible for people to connect in real life. People are excited to meet other people online and they spend hours chatting on these platforms but never really get to know the person they are chatting with (Parasar). It becomes hard for such individuals to held real discussions when they meet face to face because they have become used to chatting online. The reason why many relationships are failing is because people have lacked the patience required to nurture a relationship. The Internet has led to the erosion of a foundation upon which a relationship can be built. People are quick to walk away from relationships and even marriages because they accessed information online on how to deal with their relationships. Communication has been greatly affected by the advancement of the Internet. People have become more comfortable with expressing their emotions on social platforms than they are on face-to-face…

Over one billion people around the world use social media. It has become so big and out of control that it has taken over the early 20th century and will continue to negatively impact the communication of generations to come. Social media is ruining the way society defines friendship. A friendship is a relationship with a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. But Bradley Shear defines a "Facebook Friend" as someone with whom you may or may not have ever met or interacted with other than requesting that he or she be added to your network or that you confirmed that he or she be added to your network. Facebook recently reported that most users who have hundreds of friends in reality only really interact with between five to ten percent of their Facebook buddies. Social Media also continues to dismantle our ability to have relationships with one another by simply giving us the satisfaction of being “connected”. Social media has become so overwhelmingly big that it has put our safety at risk, it continues to distract us from important every day tasks and causes huge issues with our social skills not only on a personal level but also in society as a whole.…
