Dubai Metro
Dubai Metro is one of the few driverless passenger trains in the world. The construction of the Dubai Metro took four years. Dubai Metro was built in order to improve the public transportation of Dubai. In order for the Dubai Metro construction to be done, the road networks were getting blocked. Dubai Metro is an efficient and clean modern transport system that is still expanding in the Emirates. Dubai Metro opened on 09/09/09 with ten stations operational under its red line. It has been estimated that the total cost of Dubai Metro has been 15 billion dirhams.
There are two metro lines covering the city, the Red Line and the Green Line. During the rush hours, the waiting time is 3 minutes and 45 seconds. During off peak times, the waiting time is 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
