Explain Why I Want To Be A Pediatrician
My Passion Everyone has goals in life, some small, others monumental; some people even have the same goals. My goal is to become a pediatrician. I am sure there are hundreds of other high school seniors that also have the same career choice as me, but what sets us apart is the passion behind said goal. So, instead of telling you what I am going to do, I am going to explain why I want to do it.
My passion has always been focused around children. What I have wanted to be when I grow up has changed, and my idea of a future career might continue to change, but one thing will always remain the same; my future career involves the betterment of children or infants. This passion started at an early age. I began babysitting at the age of 12, and that is where my interest sparked. Even though it was just for my aunt, I still loved watching my cousin. All of these jobs are different, but also same in a way. They all improve a child's life for the better. By becoming a pediatrician I could start be staying local and improving the health of children around me, but my end goal is to eventually travel and use my degree to help impoverished children around the world.
To become a pediatrician I have to go to college for a total of 8 years. On average doctors come out of school with over $170,000 in student loans. I can say that I would not be able to pay for school on my own. I have two siblings, so my parents would not be able to contribute very much to my education. I am relying on scholarships to put me through school, and help me achieve my dream.
