The Hawthorne Legacy effect produced an improvement human behavior and performance as a result of increased attention from supervisors, clients and co workers. Hawthorne was design to find ways to increase work production. The Hawthorne effect is both positive and beneficial, because knowing that they are being observed encourages people to behave or perform at a higher level of efficiency. The Theories X employees dislike work require close supervision, and are primarily interested in security. The modern Theory Y view employees are capable of self direction or seeking responsibility and of being creative. I am the Theory Y employee in my office and my co worker is the Theory X employee. I try to make the office run smooth as possible which leave me doing most of the work. I talk to my coworker all the time about being negative about everything. My supervision has to remind her of deadlines and I sometimes have to finish her projects so she will not get reprimanded.
