Because issue of gay/lesbian people is so huge and already has big support is society, it is nearly impossible to outline all stakeholders in Australia and internationally. Some larges and most famous ones are:
Peak organisations:
The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) advocates on behalf of the lesbians and gay men. They also represent the gay and lesbian community at the local, state and national level through state wide consultations.
Mardi Gras is the organisation that runs the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras as well as Sleaze Ball and a number of other events throughout the year.

In terms of party attitude and campaigning for gay and lesbian rights, the Greens are clear leaders of all political parties existing now in Australia.. Tanya Plibersek and Anthony Albanese: Labour’s Anthony Albanese and Tanya Plibersek represent ethnically diverse and vary gay communities. They are known to campaign for gay and lesbian rights in the party room.
Despite having a lot of supporters, this issue also has many powerful opponents in:
• General public;
• In political and government sphere and in the Parliament
• Church and most religions.
They would be the opposition of the campaign and have critical interest for us as they are people and organisations we are going to work against: try and change their view, lobby them, educate, argue, write letters and petitions in order to change their attitude and decisions.

Politicians- sometimes will act as Celebrities, talking on TV and radio raising awareness, but mail role will be to insure bigger support in their own parties and outside their parties, as well as persuade parliament to change the law.

The strategic alliances would be these alliances which can act in line with our strategic plan. For example one of our strategies would be Needs assessment and community consultation. In this regard some of already existing stakeholders could be very useful to us, providing data on statistics, issues and strategies. The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby, Mardi Gras and GLOBE could provide us with this information, therefore cooperating with these stakeholders would be strategic. One of the other our strategies would be protecting gay/lesbian rights and lobbying Government, so The Gay & Lesbian Rights Lobby, The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights commission would be our strategic alliances for doing
