Examples Of Group Observation

While observing a group of Crystal Lake Central High School students in co-op sometime around early afternoon. Roughly around the age of seventeen or eighteen, the age of upperclassmen in high school. The group consisted of five girls. They were in co-op, which is basically a study hall here at Central. The group of girls consisted of two of them being of hispanic ethnicity and the other three being of white ethnicity. The group is not all consisting of people that are of just one race is it is a mixed group. During the period spent observing the girls I noticed that they were finishing their lunch they had gone to chipotle for lunch judging by the bags of foods they all had that said the restaurant's name on it. After they had finished their lunch two girls one with dark blonde hair and the other with black hair took out their homework to finish before class. The other two were talking to each other and using their
The whole group had gone out to lunch since they all had chipotle bags of food. They were benefitting our economy by putting money back into our system. The reason I think you had us observe a group of people was so that we know from now on what we can pick up from people and the world around us by just watching and listening. Especially because sometimes we aren’t all that observant on what we are doing and what is going on around us. I think this information will further be used throughout this semester by us observing our community around us more and viewing things more like a sociologist would. Overall I thought this assignment was pretty interesting. I never realized what I could pick up from just sitting and watching
