Nando and other men had created snow shoes to see and explore from outside the broken plane to see if there was any chance to find help. The people trapped inside were cold and afraid but did not let an avalanche stop them from surviving, Nando had found a metal beam and pushed it against the snow to create a hole to breathe thru and to create a tunnel to freedom which was a creative and effective way to stay alive which is an example of Adversity. Racing their way down the ramshackle streets of an all-American slum, two young boys hurry home. Next-door-neighbors on the seedy side of town, the two children share fears, sorrows, and joys. Yet while one boy will attend a prestigious medical school, his friend will join the gang down the street. In their diverging paths, these boys challenge common beliefs about adversity. One such belief belongs to Roman poet Horace. Says the philosopher, “Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.” In the case of the first boy, Horace’s assertion holds true, but his friend’s case reveals its falsehood. Adversity, then, is a fickle matter; one cannot predict whether an adverse experience will…

Adversity is either chosen or brought upon someone; either way, the obstacle is either overcome or not. No matter wealth, age, or location, all people face adversity for it is synonymous with life. Life is the struggle for survival and success and order, while adversity is the representation of disorder and failure. Without either, it would be impossible to differentiate one’s achievements from one’s failures. Overcoming adversity is the basis of all great, successful people similarly to how concrete and steel is the foundation of all astonishing architectural structures.…

Introductory 1:Adversity is a common thing amongst the human-race. Almost everyone has had a problem once or twice in their life. For example, not everyone can agree on everything. Arguments amongst people aren’t rare, and almost every person has been a part of one. Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird had this exact adversity in her life. When she first went to school, she found different kinds of classmates with different views and opinions. She even butted heads with her teacher when she told Scout to stop reading. But, little did she know, that through these problems she had throughout her life were actually shaping her and helping her mature as a person. Most people see adversities as a bad thing, but humans need to have adversity to successfully…
