Evidence Based Study Examples

Growing up with a mother who is a nurse, I have been able to appreciate & understand the importance of health. She taught me not only how crucial personal health is but also how important community health & prevention is. She raised me to have compassion & empathy for others as well. While working in today’s heavily pharmaceutical influenced healthcare system, my mother has always valued & emphasized the use of holistic treatments. Her insight has allowed me to become aware of the weaknesses of allopathic medicine, but also to appreciate its strengths as well. The field of NM & its principles are exactly what I believe in, & will allow myself to exemplify the high ethical standards that I deeply value. I want to help others improve their health
I witnessed this first hand when I conducted a survey based research study on this topic. One of the field’s main critics is its lack of “evidence-based research”. CCNM is my top choice for naturopathic medical school due to the various research endeavors the facility has pursued thus far. With increased research efforts & support, continued licensure of the states will follow. I envision the profession of NM evolving by collaborating with veterinarians to produce more validated research to further its mainstream acceptance. Veterinarians have largely contributed to the advancement of biomedicine & have recently been implementing holistic & alternative treatments into their own practices. This union will be highly beneficial for the future of healthcare for animals & humans. With the emergence of further validated research & acceptance, I foresee the field of NM becoming the leading profession in preventative healthcare. To make this reality possible, NDs need to join forces with epigeneticists & geneticists. From taking genetics & having undergraduate research experience in a genomics lab, I understand that every bodily function is reliant upon genes & gene expression. Through genetic analysis, disease predispositions can be found & NDs can make appropriate lifestyle modifications to prevent them from
Her never ending support & guidance drove me to be academically focused my entire life. During high school, I was in a veterinary science program where I had my first form of medical training. Determined to graduate on time with a biology degree, I took courses over the summer every year. I personally visited UB and CCNM to explore ND school options. Upon learning what the naturopathic curriculum entails, I chose to take elective courses that would increase my success as a naturopathic medical student. I expanded my knowledge on NM elsewhere at the “Florida School of Holistic Living” & “The Center for Natural & Integrative Medicine”. I was also given the valuable experience of shadowing an acupuncturist. Her hands on instruction & advice will stay with me throughout naturopathic medical school & beyond. While I acknowledge the intensity & rigor naturopathic medical school may ensue, I am extremely driven, motivated & prepared to work at my highest potential in order to complete the program & become a naturopathic
