As said before, postmodernism is something hard to define and spot. There are several examples of postmodernism and they are: fragmentation, paradox, metanarratives, irony/black humor, and many more. Relating to Slaughterhouse-Five, I did a soundtrack that showed postmodernism within it. My soundtrack shows fragmentation because time leaps from one song to another and while it’s at that, the songs talk about different events My soundtrack includes the songs: War by Edwin Starr, Stuck in Moment by U2, and Freewill by Rush. I chose these songs because these songs symbolizes or are the key events in the novel. The song war is about how war is pointless, there is nothing beautiful about it, and no one wants to die because of a mass…

Films that claim the statement, “based on a true story” intend to make all of the pictured events as accurate as possible. While depicting a historic moment can be incredible hard, it can be even harder when the original script is constructed upon a lie. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is a movie based the life of the man responsible for creating a genre of television in which we capitalize on today, but also for creating an autobiography so far- fetched that it appears to be true. Half the Sky is a movie that discusses the oppression of women around the world. It brings to light the issues that, even in today's society, are still occurring. Women, young adults, and children everywhere in the world are becoming victims to abuse, rape, and being deprived of getting an education. This film documents Nikolas Kristof going around the world with the help of well known people in America to show some of the issues and some organizations that are working to change the way society views women and children. Early in the documentary a shocking statistic was given. It stated that around 60 million to 100 million females are currently missing out of the population. Where are all of these women going, and how are we letting this happen in today's societies? Females all around the world are becoming victims of genital mutilation, sex trafficking, rape, and abuse. Half the Sky is shedding light into some of the cultures around the world where this is a norm, and is trying to promote awareness. Has there ever been a time in your life that you have felt like a minority? Growing up I remember watching the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I couldn’t wait to get off the bus, throw my backpack down, grab a snack, and turn on the television. I grew up in a white, middle class, family. I watched shows like Full House, Family Matters, A Different World, The Cosby Show, and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It never dawned on me that the families I grew up watching were any different than myself. This could be because many of the minority sitcoms were written mainly to resemble white American society. I chose to discuss the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air because there were two episodes I watched that signified racism towards African Americans.…

Tomorrowland has a very personal connection with Belgium and it’s citizens. The name of the town in which the festival is held, Boom, means tree when translated to English, an appropriate title. In 2013 the concert pumped over 70 million euros into the Belgian economy from visitors booking flights and accommodations near the festival among other various expenditures (16). Organizers continually show their appreciation of Belgium’s hosting of the event; one gesture of gratitude being the pre-sale in 2012 in which ID&T gave Belgian residents an exclusive opportunity to purchase 80,000 of the total 180,000 tickets to the event which all sold out within the day (17). In a motion to indicate the city’s interest in hosting the festival for a more…
