Eulogy For My Father
Today I'm thankful for my brother Trevor. Hard working, outgoing, funny, and simple are 4 words that describe him perfectly. No matter what he's doing he puts his full effort into whatever it is. If it was a sport he wanted to be better at, he would spend hours working on it in his own time. If it was a project he needed done for school, he would put it before anything else. If it was a few extra hours of studying to get a good grade, he would do it. But most of all, any time anything needs done around the farm, he's the first one to do it. During the summer while my Dad's at work, Trevor makes the plans and tells the hired hands what to do. If he's home from college he tells my Dad he worked enough the day before and to get a few extra hours of sleep and he'll take care of the …show more content…
Trev is also outgoing and funny. If he's comfortable around you, he'll spend most of his time joking around. He's the kind of person you don't really get tired of being around and he never really has to try to gain the approval of others. He is just incredibly witty. He is also one of the most plain and simple people I've ever met. By plain I don't mean boring to be around, by plain I mean he never looks for over the top extravagant. For example, he wears a plain grey t-shirt and shorts majority of the time. He wears the same tennis shoes for years at a time. He never even wanted new crayons in grade school and who on earth doesn't want new sharpened crayons to start the year?! Needless to say, my brother is a class act in my opinion and never fails to do what is asked of him and never comes up

The song “Simple Man” by Hank Williams Jr is the perfect example of how my grandpa lived his life. My grandpa was a simple kind of man he did not own expensive cars or big houses. My name is Ted and I am one of the nephews of Louie and Amy Alves. From day one Amy faced obstacles and even on her death-bed she never showed fear, never stopped laughing and never gave up. She inspired so many people throughout the course of her life and that was obvious by the turnout at the wake last night. Amy was a die-hard sports fan and a very athletic person growing up. She had 9 brothers and sisters, which I am sure contributed to her competitiveness. There is no doubt that she came from a military family because she possessed and passed on all of the military values as well as a patriotic spirit that was unbreakable. Her selfless service and dedication to her family was top notch. She lived her entire life honorably and with courage to spare. Integrity should have been her middle name and not only did she demand respect but she also offered it to everyone she met. Before Amy had children of her own she made it her duty to be like a “mom” to many young athletes, including myself.…

It is a quiet room filled with people. Most of them have smiles on their faces. Some of them are even about to have a laughter or two. Is it easy to find such a room in a university? Yes. But is it easy to find such a room where people are holding a funeral in? Absolutely no. The masterpiece-eulogy by Margaret Atwood made it possible. That is right, I am talking about “The Great Communicator”(1999), the eulogy to Northrop Frye.…

The eulogy is concluded with the song Make You Feel My Love by Adele Adkins. This song describes an endless and permanent love that comes at the price of sacrifice. Particularly Adele sings, “I’d go hungry; I’d go black and blue, and I’d go crawling down the avenue. No, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to make you feel my love” (Adele). She also mentions, “make your dreams come true, nothing that I wouldn’t do. Go to the ends of the Earth for you, to make you feel my love” (Adele). Onward, Adele’s song has a strong connection to Baba because he’s made numerous sacrifices throughout his life for the benefit of others, as these sacrifices were how Baba expressed his love. This is exemplified by how Baba always offers…

There are those mysterious strangers who seem to creep into your heart in the quiet, dead moments of the night. They’re the people that sometimes place their hands on your heart and refuse to remove it till the lesson you need is learned, regardless of if they are still there. So, when a silent boy slipped into my life I had no idea he would impact me in the most awe-inspiring, life-changing way.…

He was always listening to other people complain about what was wrong with their lives, and he just listened, and gave advice when they asked for it. He also never complained to others about his problems, he kept them to himself. He was also always looking out for people, whether they were friends, family, or complete strangers, he was always making sure that they were okay. Not in any physical or mental pain. Right up to the end he was smiling and laughing just like when he was little except he would make jokes to try and get people to laugh at him or by doing something stupid.
