Ethnic Disparity In Health Care

Dr. Camara and the text from this chapter reveal that blacks and other ethnic minorities, the poor and those with low income and the not as much of educated benefit substantially less from contemporary health care than other Americans. In this reading there is also evidence that the disparity between the health characteristics of economies dominated by family based farming (LaVeist & Isaac, 2013). Therefore the large number of children rises the possibility that at least some of the children will survive (LaVeist & Isaac, 2013). In order word, this suggested that the average person and other ethnic minorities from a low income family is more likely to have health problems than a white person with a high income family. In terms of health outcomes, Americans black people and other minorities, with poverty level, less educated fare worst in the United States.
American whites believe it would be unhealthy to undo racial discrimination. Based on this reading I believed racism is the reason that most blacks and other minority groups at the bottom of the socioeconomic hierarchy in the United States. Sadly to say, influence of racism, discrimination and prejudice continue to manifest in all parts of the country despite efforts by some elements of the government. I believe, stronger laws along with stronger enforcement would be required to change the health system and socioeconomic into one that fully respects the dignity, integrity and culture of minority groups and their individual
