Steadiness in emotional and physical health by sports allow for greater developments. When both the mind and body are interconnected, one has a greater healthier outlook on their daily life. Sports have a larger impact on the human body as a whole and not only physically. Although most people focus on the physical benefits of playing a sport, there are equally important mental health benefits. Sport improves the mental health of individuals which in turn improves their body's physical wellbeing and has a great impact on psychosomatic diseases. Psychosomatic disorders are a connection between the mind and body. These conditions need the mind to be healthy to have positive reflections on the daily human body. Mental health improves through various mechanisms, but sports provide a balanced triangle between mental, physical, …show more content…
Sports include everyone working together continuously through wins, losses, and practices. Constant communication is needed to allow the team to enhance in any situation. Communicating on a daily basis results in leadership skills. Leadership allows a person to have a working team attitude and regularly be involved, instead of going through isolation. Preventing isolation lead to the arteries not hardening, having normal blood pressure and fewer problems with learning and memory (Gammon, 2012). Also, loneliness and isolation raise the levels of cortisol, a stress hormone. People with high cortisol levels have a greater risk of a cardiovascular disease. The risk is due to the irregular cortisol levels causing constriction of the blood vessels and increased blood pressure to "enhance delivery of oxygenated blood" (Aranson, 2009).
