Essay On Deer Hunting
Although the deer hunting season starts in September, and most people have hung up their bows and guns by this point, there are some people who would love to bag a few priced deer in the winter months. Whitetail hunting requires different techniques, when shooting during the solitary winter months. Here, we present the best hunting techniques that you can use this winter to catch that elusive deer for you.
1. Learning Patterns
You can catch a few deer during October and November, due to the mistakes of other hunters. But in December, with only a few hunters on the prowl, you have to carefully work for each kill. This gives rise to the use of different techniques, such as the use of patterns. Deer feel safer during the winter, and start to use

As they are in the survival mode, one of the best ways to go about whitetail hunting is to look for corn fields and oak trees. Deer especially love to enjoy a corn crop, so it is ideal to hide in a cornfield, with an active crop. You should look to target the corners of a corn crop, where the deer are most likely to look for food. So find a corner, and prepare for a deer hunt.
3. Following the Sun
Another sure technique in whitetail hunting is following the sun. Most whitetails look for pastures and ridges, where they are exposed to sunlight for warmed, especially during the winter. The best places in this regard are the ridges with junipers that face the west. They provide excellent resting area for deer during the day and you can easily spot a buck, if you continue to observe a west facing ridge.
4. Hunting in Cold
Cold weather affects deer just as it affects us. Deer usually like to move to the valleys and remain in thick bushes and conifers, when it gets real cold. You can stalk them in such locations, as they prefer not to move in the open in order to remain sheltered from strong winds and ice. A still deer hunt becomes the best option in this case, where all you have to do is approach a thick section of the forest with care in order to bag a deer in the

In “Kentucky Deer Season 2013: Hunting Forecast” Darren Warner of OutdoorLife.com states that “The current statewide population estimate for Kentucky's deer herd is about 900,000 animals.” Due to the abundancy of deer, during the apocalypse they will be a great source of food for you and your group. However, after the kill, most hunters do not know what to do next, and those who do often do not take the most ethical route to processing a deer. It’s November, so that means its deer season. Every year deer season starts on the second weekend of November and last for ten days. I get really excited around August because during this time my family and I start exploring the woods looking for signs of deer. We look for signs like scrapes on trees, footprints, and tall grass that looks like it has been laid on and flattened. We set salt blocks out around our tree stands and set our cameras out hoping to catch a picture of a big buck. After we finish all the preparing we wait until the first week of November. During the first week of November we go back to our stands, check the salt blocks, set new blocks out, and grab our cameras to take back home. Once we get home we look at the pictures…

BOOM! Then, dead silence. The water ripples as the smell of gun powder fills the air. The victim is seen helpless by the hunter. Now if this is what sounds like a thrill to you, duck hunting is the way to go. If someone were to ask me what my favorite hobby is, I would have to say duck hunting in North Dakota. Some may not consider it a hobby because I only duck hunt four days a year, but I still do. I also duck hunt behind our house on Trident Lake another three to ten days a year. Duck hunting is very different from other types of hunting. Usually hunters have to be still and quiet when deer and turkey hunting. When duck hunting, a necessity is to keep the eyes down. It doesn’t matter if talking or moving is involved, as long as the duck can’t see the hunter’s eyes.…

Does usually have one or two fawns a year around late May or early June. Whitetails are so populated because today there are not many bears, cougars, wolves, and coyotes around like there was back in the day. Whitetails love deforestation because it gives them cover from predators and to keep their young safe. Deer numbers increase a lot every year, because not as many people deer hunt anymore and that causes the deer population to go up. Controlling the deer population is important because whitetails leave droppings everywhere, also when they die their carcasses sit there and rot until something eats them. Deer also destroy people's gardens and sometimes deer attack humans. Every year deer cost the U.S 248 million dollars a year in damage to gardens, house yards, and fields. Whitetails also eat 15 million tons of food a year. Sometimes they also eat plants that are very rare, if so those plants may vanish. Also, whitetail deer carry diseases that can kill livestock and other animals. To control the population better, the government has set laws focusing on how many deer and what type of deer you can shoot. Deer are becoming a worldwide populated and domestic problem that is almost impossible to stop.…

Not only is hunting an exhilarating experience but so is the feeling of being surrounded by wilderness. During winter times since I was 12 years old, my father would take me out on long drives in the middle of winter to hunting sites just outside of Edmonton. What made the drive not seem so long was the scenic route we would always take. Every once in a while I would see little white rabbits hopping around and leaving miniature footprints all in the snow next to the road. Further down the road we would pass a fairly big hill that had two pine trees at the top of it. I always wondered how long they had been there considering the fact that they were over thirty feet high. Finally we would get to the hunting ground and make are way down to a little patch of brush where we would crouch and wait for the deer to pass by. The feeling of the cold snow crunching under my boots, the frost covered branches of the bush we were nestled under, and all the little footprints that surrounded us gave me a feeling of unity with nature. After hiding in our spots for a long while, usually until my feet and toes were completely frozen it seemed, my father would whisper “Here comes one right now”. A few moments later I’d hear a loud bang and we’d be back on the road with our trophy and bragging rights. We have carried on this tradition every…
