Essay On Athena Goddess Of Wisdom
Wisdom

Athena: goddess of Wisdom, and Battle Strategy. Athena is famous for her piercing, stormy grey eyes. Athena was a part of the Great gods of Mount. Olympus. She had her own throne along eleven different other gods. Out of all all Zeus's Sons and Daughters, Athena is favored the most. “she was Zeus’ favorite child and was allowed to use his weapons including his thunderbolt” (Athena). Athena, although not one of the original Olympians, had a major role in Greek mythology and was highly respected in Ancient Greece, especially her patron city, Athens.

She is Zeus’ Mastermind. She was major part of many wars, like the Trojan War, and The War of The Titans. Athena was always the head of any plan the Olympians sought. Victory always seemed to follow her, literally. “Nike, the goddess who personified Winged Victory, often accompanied the goddess Athena. Not surprising, since Athena, Goddess of War never lost a battle” (Athena).

Athena could not believe the nerve of the woman, and challenged her. Though some myths say Arachne's piece was better that Athena's, it didn’t matter, for the goddess was going to do her will no matter the outcome. One thing led to another, and Athena ended up sprinkling Hecate's herbs upon her, transforming her into a spider. Since then, spiders have been hateful toward Athena (Parada).

Athena was calm and collected, that is until you get her mad. When Greece was in war, they would turn to Ares and Athena. Athena more for guidance and Ares: god of War, for the actual battlefield action. All Ares cares about is blood spilling, and Athena is more organized and strategic about her plans. Athena was very beautiful. Some say she rivaled Aphrodite- Goddess of Love and Beauty- for she was too perfect. But Athena hated being compared; Arachne was a prime example of what would

Athena was the goddess of power and wisdom, and she cared a lot for Odysseus, who was struggling to find his way back home, so she helped him in some difficult situations. However, she was kind of passive while he was fighting, letting him fight his own battles as she sat back and watched him prevail. She also helped Telemachus so he could earn a name for himself in battle. She is confident, smart, a great warrior, and she is also the goddess of the womanly arts. Athena lived on Mount Olympus with all the other Greek gods, and she was a big supporter of Odysseus while the other gods debated whether to help him. Athena also has an important role in the town she live in as an protector from all enemies. Athena got her name from another town name…

When I was deciding on a character, right away I chose Athena. I chose Athena because I believe she is the most interesting (besides Odysseus) character in the book. Speaking of Athena, Athena is a very important character in the first few chapter of the Odyssey. She is the one who puts Odysseus's son on the path to find Odysseus and learn what is his faith. She did this by showing up to Odysseus’s house in human form and convincing Telemakhos to call all of his mothers suitors in front of the gods and try to convince them to leave. When that didn't work “Athena was nearby and came to him, putting on Mentor’s figure and his tone,” and told him that she will find him a boat She told him to sneak out of the house and go down to the docks to…

Athena (Roman name: Minerva), goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, is one of the most beloved and well known gods of the Greek myths. According to Greek mythology, Athena sprang from the head of Zeus, fully grown and wearing battle attire. Athena is always portrayed with her armor and helmet, carrying her shield and lance. Athena is also a gifted craftsman; she created the bridle to tame horses, along with many other crafts and useful objects. Her favorite bird is the owl, which is the symbol of wisdom, watchfulness and the hunt. Athena made all of her followers live a life of purity, and she created a big impact on Greece’s history. On of the most famous myths involving Athena is the origination of the city of the Athens’ symbol. The story begins when Poseidon and Athena have a dispute over who is to rule Athens. Whoever greats the best symbol to represent the city would become patron god or goddess. Poseidon, god of the sea, produced a freshwater spring for the Acropolis. Athena chose to present an olive tree, one of her many symbols. Because olive trees are deemed very useful, Athena became crowned patron goddess of Athens, and she has been ever since.…

Athena is one of the most well known goddesses from ancient Greece. She is Goddess of Wisdom and of War and is a good example of the template used for our modern day female superhero. Often called a feminist goddess, she is described as strong in both her character and body, independent and fierce, wise and rational. The story of Athena’s birth is well known. Zeus consumed the Titan goddess Metis and began to suffer a headache, Hephaestus then splits Zeus’ head open to relieve the ache and out of the wound sprung Athena. If you look close enough, Athena was born of man and woman asexually, but it was often said, even by Athena herself that she was born only of man. This course of action is a denial of the maternal origin and her mother is never seen in ancient myth as a disrespect. The denial of birth and female power to give birth commandeers this power and creates another layer of patriarchal views on the creation of life in the world. She belongs to only her father and sees herself as his greatest and most trusted heir. She was a part of the world in a way the women of her time were not allowed to be, a goddess of both war and wisdom, when the women in society were seen as irrational and unpredictable by the men around them. But she still remains a beacon of what a perfect women should be in their society, virginal, beautiful and loyally pledged to…
