Essay My Writing Process
When it comes to writing essays I blank out a lot and I think to myself, “what should I do?” I’m not the type of person that likes to do essays because I struggle with having to write them. The only way I would be able to write one was if I have had any experience with that particular topic. My writing process is not so much of a “thinking outside the box” sort of thing. It’s really simple, but I struggle with it. I begin with writing everything on a piece of paper that comes from the back of my mind when thinking of the specified topic. From that, I choose three examples that I could use for my essay. Then I get stuck. I don’t know how to write the introduction. I blank out so much that even space has more things than me. In order for me …show more content…
All I need is for no one to disturb me while I’m writing my essay and to play relaxing music to keep me focused. But before I can start my conclusion I spend time on rewriting the body to make it sound more professional and presentable until I know it’s close to perfect. I sometimes detail too much on my essays that I either think it’s too cheesy or I make it sound like if I’m preaching. The conclusion is not the best of my essay because I’m thinking to myself that I already want to get it over with and at that point the fire in me is gone. So my conclusion is basically the introduction but in different words. I write it as it is or I also read other essays and try to get inspired by their conclusion. When I’m finally done with the essays I ask other people to read mine and tell me what they opinion is. If it’s the same topic I would ask if I could read their paper so I can get a better or new aspect in the topic. English is not my best topic. It’s not that I don’t like it ,but it’s the fact that I have to do essay and I’m not really good with using the right diction in order to explain what I have to say. My writing process isn’t great but I write what I can to make my essay perfect to

My writing process all depends on what I am writing. Some writings I can sit down and write the whole things and be done with it, while others can take me multiple days or even weeks. I normally sit down and work on it until I finish, get tired of it, or a hit a roadblock. I try to stop when I feel like I am writing the same thing over and over or if I feel like I just need a break. Most of the time, if I feel like I am writing and it is really bad, it is because it is and I need to take a break and come back to it later. Working on it in pieces normally works well for me, to break it up and take it a little bit at a time. I normally struggle when I do not like what I am writing about or when I run out of information to put in my writing. I…

My writing process is usually all over the place, I have to be in my room with my door shut, my music on, my fan on, and my television on, weird, I know, but that is what I have to do in order to keep myself concentrated. After I am all situated I begin by writing down different ideas on a couple sheets of paper, listing ways I could support this idea and how it relates to my topic, sometimes when I am stuck I look up sample essays online to help me out of my rut. Once I finally choose an idea I start writing the first things that pop into my head down on another sheet of paper, it usually ends up being a jumbled mess that only I can understand. After all of my ideas are laid out onto the paper I begin placing numbers beside them so I know…

When writing an English paper, the goal and purpose go hand-in-hand in depicting the writer’s argument and/or point of view of a subject. Dr. McGee clarified that the goal of the paper must be insightful, in which the main thought is accurately understood and perceived clearly. In Paula Cohen’s, “Academic Anonymous,” she directly explains that the purpose of her essay is arguing the necessity of beauty in a…

When writing an essay there really is more to it than just writing words down and making sure the words is used correctly. When someone is having thoughts they need to write them down and just go from there. At first it may not be perfect, but the writer can always go back and change the errors that need to be fixed. Before reading this I figured it was going to be about bad writing and one should not worry if it is not perfect. This made me realize that it is not about how you write, but what you write about and how to get your thoughts across.…

The five steps of the writing process are equally vital to the succession of any writing assignment, whether it is for work or school. The five stages include PREWRITING, PLANNING, DRAFTING, REVISING, and PROOFREADING. As our text (Arlov, 2014), explains, “Writing is not a single act, but a process composed of several steps,” (p. 3). Moreover, constructing a strong paper that is well-written (no matter how tedious it seems), requires efficaciously executing all five phases. It is crucial not to take shortcuts by eluding any step of the writing process.…

A jumble of mixed ideas all buzzing about in my brain, I look for the best way to organize these thoughts, and eventually, I am successful. That is the basis for my writing process. I would say my most memorable writing assignment, or rather the most fun, would have to be when I was asked to right a narrative story about a little boy and his adventure. Other than the guidelines given about the character being a little boy and the plot being that of an adventure, I was left to my own imagination and 3rd grade writing prowess to construct the perfect story. Apart from an expanded vocabulary and a better understanding of the formatting for an essay, I still use the same tried and true writing process that was drilled into my young mind and produced the greatest adventure story at Felix A. William Elementary School.…

In September when I was assigned my first essay it was a mess. I found myself just typing words that didnt seem to all come together and make sense. Most of my issues, however, were in the first introductory paragraph. I did not know how to develop an introduction that grabbed the readers attention and let the reader understan what exactly I was going to discuss in my essay. I found that the best way to do this was with a strong thesis statement at the end of the paragraph. A useful technique of writing a thesis that I had come to understand was that writing the essay first, and then reflecting on the essay, often leads me to develop a much stronger thesis statement. It is much easier to write a thesis that introduces what you're going to write about after you write the essay. This is a method that I learned after a few essays in september. I slowly watched my essay grades improve dramatically due partly to a stronger thesis.…

In high school, essay writing required students to construct a piece around specific guidelines to the best of their ability. Essays were more like stories and less like factual reports based on external reading. I had the tendency to pick guidelines which would normally revolve around feeling and emotion. Over the years I developed a style that would aid me in writing such essays and continued to write them throughout high school. I was nervous to take a step out of comfort zone to try something new, spending all of my time striving to perfect the emotional style. My goal has always been to reach out to people who may be feeling the same things such as me, through my writing. I try to keep my writing as informal as I can so that readers can connect to it better and find their own place in my writing. My writing was never based on any factual matter and took…

I start off with what one of my english teachers in high school called “prewriting” . Prewriting consists of writing down what I want to put in to my essay and what the order of those ideas will be.nUsually, I start off with writing down the main topic of what the paper is about. Then I write down a few main points I want to be put in my writing. Under those points, I put the supporting idea of the main points, this helps me with organizing paper so I don’t begin writing with no idea what I want to write. To begin my essay, I start with a topic paragraph that gets the reader engaged or hooked and is a brief synopsis of what the paper will be about. In my topic paragraph I include the purpose of the essay, who the essay is directed to, whether it’s little kids or adults, and the main idea of the essay. I begin to struggle on my essay once I get to the conclusion, a problem for me is that I get repetitive and want to sum up the previous writing without repeating what I already said. Overall, writing essays is not a pleasant experience for me. Personally, writing an essay requires a lot of planning, erasing sentences just to add them back. Writing essays has always been a struggle for me and they take a lot of time for me to find a final draft that I would turn in for a…

Writing essays have always been a challenge for me. I am from Ecuador, my native language is Spanish and, I came to the United States three years ago. With the passage of the time, I have learned to talk in English, but learning to write in English has been much harder for me over these three years. However, I have been noticing some progress in my writing in different ways: Idea generation, structuring the essay, and learning to give good supporting evidence have been some of the biggest improvements I have made in my writing in this last semester.…
