Cosmetics, scientific research, cleaning products, drug tests, and other research facilities have used animals as a way to evaluate their products or to discover possible scientific breakthroughs. Statistics show that more than 100 million animals die in the U.S. every year for experiments done by companies, the government, scientific facilities, or other institutions. Yet, the number is highly inaccurate since mice, rats, birds, and cold blooded animals are not believed to be animals by the Animal Welfare Act. The Animal Welfare Act is one of the only actions that are done to ensure that animals are protected from horrible lab conditions and painful experiments, yet they are barely reinforced. The previously mentioned animals make up more…

Animal testing is rarely successful since animals have different physiologies than humans. There has been many studies that have shown inaccuracy and unsuccess in animal testing. Studies show, “90 percent of medications approved for human use after animal testing later proved ineffective or harmful to humans in clinical trials” (Stop Animal Testing) and also, “Animal-tested drugs have killed, disabled or harmed millions of people and lead to costly delays as well” (Stop Animal Testing). Many people today can say they love their pet, whether it is a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or fish. Little do we actually think about the animals suffering to the torture of cruel animal testing that goes on behind the scenes of the company’s we love. Maybelline, Head and Shoulders, and Clorox are all companies that test on animals, yet are still supported by the thousands of people that buy and use their products. I believe the main reason people continue to support companies that perform animal testing is because society today is not informed or educated about the severity of animal testing. People do not know or care to research if a company performs animal testing. Besides consumers keeping these companies alive and running, animal testing is not humane or morally right. It has been scientifically proven that animals can to a certain extent feel pain (Tell Me if it Hurts: Investigating Whether Animals Feel Pain by Caroline…

Within the next 24 hours, approximately 27,000 animals will have died from being tested on. Animal testing involves various forms of lab experimentations and procedures on living creatures such as dogs, pigs, farm animals, and rodents. The tests performed are most commonly used to determine the specific effects of a consumer or industry product such as cosmetics, medicines, and chemicals. Animal testing is extremely inhumane due to the administrations conducted on the animals. They suffer through a wide variety of dangerous chemical and medical exposure, genetic mutation, numerous different forms of surgeries and intentionally inflicted wounds or infectious diseases, and psychological and behavioral experiments. The animals face distress, cognitive issues, excessive amounts of pain and severe injury, and ultimately suffer a cruel…
