Elizabeth Case Analysis
The case tells that Elizabeth was an orderly person, who took initiative to maintain records, even if not asked and also expected her colleagues to be equally systematic which is a good sign for the organisation.
Elizabeth & other employees main problem were that they neither received confirmation letter nor the appointment order. Because of the Father-Son combination she felt left out of the discussions. As in June 2004 couple of new requites were taken in at initial salary of Rs. 2500. She was also expecting a pay hike of Rs. 1000/- for which she asked the manager but received only Rs. 500/- as increment.
The organisation was not taking care of existing employees.
Facts : 1. Elizabeth is an efficient worker & very systematic in his work. 2. She is being not paid good amount of salary as newly joined employees also gets same amount of salary. 3. She is being also not issued confirmation letter & also given expected increment in salary & loses faith towards organisation. 4. She lefts out of discussions & feels like an outsider to the firm when her boss & his son seemed working together. 5. She submits her resignation but asks to stay by the HR consultant to put forward his issues. 6. After discussing her issue, her boss provides negative feedback against her & accept her staying back only if she apologize & provide assured discipline as he was also confident in finding her replacements.
Suggestions
1. The company has to provide appointment order to every employee so the employee fells secure. 2. The company should provide other benefits like PF, Confirmation letters. 3. Elizabeth should be given more salary than lata.
Reasons for the resignation: 1. Inappropriate salary structure of the company. 2. The company is not concerned about the employees. 3. There is no transparency in the company.
Fault of the Company: 1. The company is not taking care of the existing employees.

Due to her busy work schedule, Vivian does not have lot of time, so she agreed to spend her lunch to talk about ethics issues at her work place. To make our conversation convenient for Vivian, I took her to a coffee shop nearby her work place. While waiting for coffee, Vivian started telling me about the ethical issues she faces at work. Vivian works as an account executive for Western Insurance Marketing Corporation for about three years. When she got hired, she had to sign a contract which states that after one year on the job, she will be reviewed for a salary increase. Ever since Vivian got this job, she worked really hard and has brought more customers and revenue for the company. After her first year, she was waiting to be called into the office by her boss to talk about a possible salary increase, but it never happened. Since she was fairly new, Vivian was afraid that if she approach her boss about this matter, that she would get fired. As the result, she told herself to be patient and allow more time to past before asking for a raised. She waited and waited until but still nothing happened. Two years have passed and still no indication from her boss of a possible raise. Vivian started to think of sending a salary request. To be sure, before sending the request, she asked her co-worker to see whether she was doing the right thing. When she mentioned about the salary request, most of her…
