Elephant Run Summary
Introduction: Reading the book Elephant Run by Roland Smith was amazing, and I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. Also, it was a very compelling and thought-provoking read, because the author managed to incorporate some true events into the story.
Summary: The year is 1941, and Nick Freestone lives in London, which is frequently getting bombed, because of the London Blitz during World War II. His mother decides that it is too dangerous for Nick to live in London, so she sends him off to Burma to stay at his father’s elephant plantation in the jungle.
As soon as he arrives in Burma, he feels at home, but sadly, the war in Southeast Asia has also started to get violent, and the Japanese invade Burma. Just after Nick arrives, Rangoon, the

The first way that I used creativity to express the opinions of World War II was by creating an interview with Nick Freestone. By creating an interview, it adds a more realistic feel to the magazine. I included questions that Nick had a strong opinion about, such as “ “, so that I could express Nic’s personality.
The second way that I used creativity to express the facts of World War II was by including a section about Alfred Hitler’s death. Though he may not be the most well-liked person in World War II, his death played a very important role in the Allied powers winning the war.
Lastly, I used creativity many times to make the Magazine seem more realistic, such as including a fake magazine advertisement and inserting a table of contents. Also, I added some comedy, so that it would be more interesting to read.
In conclusion, I used my imagination and creativity to show the important facts and opinions from Elephant Run and World War II in many colorful ways, such as adding an interview with Nick, including a fake advertisement, and by adding a section on Hitler’s

In Fussell’s novel “Wartime: Understanding and Behavior in the Second World War Summary & Study Guide,” he critiques the media and how they portrayed World War II. During World War II graphic posters were being posted and displayed for the public to see. In Chapter One of the novel Fussell talks about posters involving a paratrooper slowly descending to the ground covered in blood with his head hung. The lifeless body of a paratrooper falling to the ground shows people a graphic image that shows people what American forces were possibly dealing with overseas. Fussell’s novel centers on the culture and literature produced during the time of World War II. I choose to read this novel because Fussell’s opinions fascinated me and led me to brainstorm about what the public thought about World War II as a whole.…
