The basic design of the clothing was the same in all Egyptian social classes, but the style would differ from social class to social class.22 The women in the working class would wear a linen dress that reached to their ankles with hardly any decorations on it.23 The women born into a wealthier class wore the same ankle length dress, but fringes and pleats were added to them.24 The extravagance of these additions would differ depending on the wealth of the woman's nobility.25 The clothing of the Egyptian men also differed from social class to social class, but it would differ even more so with the men than the women. Like many ancient civilizations Egypt had a religion which practiced polytheism. Several key gods in the Egyptian religion include Osiris, Isis, Set, Nephthys, and Horus.39 Osiris was the god of the dead, Isis was the wife of Osiris and ruled by his side, Set was the god of war and chaos, Nephthys was the goddess of a household, and Horus was the son of Osiris and Isis.40 Egyptians believed that these gods and their offspring would intermingle with the Egyptians throughout the day.41 They believed that the gods and goddesses were found plants and trees so this allowed the Egyptians to interact with them.42 When one died the Egyptians believed that he would go before Osiris the god of the dead and face forty-two judges.43 He would then go through all of the sins he was certain he was innocent of and he would have his heart weighed against a feather.44 In order for him to continue into paradise, his heart needed to be lighter than the feather or his heart would be eaten by a monster and he would no longer continue to be in
