The paper that will be written will explain the functional areas of interest that I am looking to work in after I graduate with my master’s degree in accounting. There are many areas of interest that someone that receives a master degree can look at to get a job. The two types of functional areas that will interest me are actual accounting and marketing. Many people believe that these two areas are similar but in reality they differ in many ways. The paper will be written to give everyone an idea what is expected of a manager in the accounting field and marketing field. The first functional area of interest to me when I receive my master’s degree would be to enter the accounting field which is the main reason that I have made the choice to go back to school to better myself and to show my kids that a college degree is a good thing to have in the future. The accounting field is very intriguing to me because I love working with number and actually have enjoyed this type of work since my junior year in high school. The marketing field is also the same as the accounting field but it has more to deal with customers. The marketing field will allow me to expand to speak to more individuals and learn how to help their business be successful and also help the business that I am involved in make a profit, which in turn will lead to more leads on new customers because it shows the customers are happy with the service that is being provided. The role of manager in the accounting field would be to make sure that all accounts are properly filed in the right account. The accounting manager would also need to make sure that all employees stay on task to ensure proper delivery to the clients all of their financial information when they need the information or be willing to make arrangements so they can have the data whenever the need arises.
