Currently, all first world countries are in a race, a race of academic achievement and new ideas that could change the world. Education has become a worldwide competition between countries, Finland and South Korea are in the lead. They have some of the best programs in the world. The United States does not have the best education system in the world and our students are not able to compete for the best jobs when they graduate. The United States is falling behind in the race of superior education. The American education system could learn from Finland and South Korea to improve the education systems.

The United States is falling behind and is losing the education race. Other styles of education have higher results than the U.S. South Korea and Finland both have different styles that the U.S. could incorporate into their education system. The United States could adopt the rigorous study habits of South Korea or the U.S. could adopt the idea that children need to go outside and exercise and no homework. If the United States incorporates other countries education system values the U.S. education system will improve. Compared to our competitors the U.S. is lacking the high scores on international tests. For example, China is rapidly expanding their research in new technologies and various research projects over a wide variety of subjects. If the United States wants to compete with the rest of the world they need to expand their education to the development of new technologies. American schools are not as well funded as the rest of the world. Other schools in the world are designed as comfortable places to learn instead of being in an overcrowded classroom with out of date textbooks. American schools need to place greater emphasis on students at younger ages to encourage the pursuit of knowledge. American education systems need reforms to greatly improve public
