I reflect the case of Microsoft, which was investigated for antitrust behavior. Microsoft is a largest software manufacturing company having one of the highest assessments in the world. It manufactures windows required for an operating system of servers and personal computers. Since 1991 the Microsoft has been examined many times for the violation of antitrust laws particularly for Sharman Antitrust Act. The litigant alleged that the Microsoft distorted its monopoly power on personal computer based on Intel while handling sales of its operating system and web browser.…

A monopoly can be defined in many ways. According to the research that I have done, a monopoly in my own words is a company or a group that owns all or almost all of the market for only a given type of product or service. Absence of competition is what typically leads to the formation of a monopoly which results in high prices and subordinate products. The history of monopolies itself goes way back to the colonial times. Monopolies are great economic powers that have had positive consequences to the United States of America.…

Not everyone has a “get out of jail free” card in life; unless of course they are playing the classic family board game, Monopoly. Those who monopolize a specific market most definitely do not have a “get out of jail free” card, as they are committing felonies. Both of these different monopolies are a great pleasure to win, but a pain to lose. In this paper I will compare and contrast these two different forms of monopolization.…

Microsoft Corporation falls under the SIC code 5734 and is a top competitor in the computer and software industry. In comparison to the industry averages, Microsoft Corporation is either in the high end of averages next to their competitors, and in some cases, rise high above others that are in the same industry. You can see this when looking at their Sales Inventory Ratio for 2013 that stands at a 19 which is above average in the computer industry and show that they have no problem moving their products off the shelf. When you look at other leading competitors in the same industry such as Dell Inc. they stand at 11.02 (reference needed) which is still above par but not close to what Microsoft was able to pull off.…

One of the most important first steps is to learn about time management. Learning the strategies of a good time management system and applying them ultimately will benefit the student tremendously. Stanford (n.d.) states that time management skills will help students manage their goals effectively which will assist them in completing homework assignments on schedule and prepare for examinations. Students will have to monitor their time and adjust it accordingly for studies and assignments. While monitoring my time, I found it helpful in selecting the best times to study and complete my homework assignments. It is suggested that students spend at least two hours studying for every hour of class time. I personally plan on following this rule to give me adequate time to complete my assignments. Every student is different, but he can find a time management system that works best to balance school, work, and family. The planning system utilizing a list with prioritizing tasks as “A”, “B”, or “C” along with an “Outlook” calendar seems to work best. Students also need to learn how to set goals and to incorporate their short- term, mid-term and long-term goals into their academic lives. This will allow them to recognize how necessary their short-term goals are and how they affect their long-term goals. One cannot achieve long-term goals without first succeeding in their short-term goals. They go hand in hand. For example, a long-term goal is to get a BA degree, but I cannot accomplish this without first having success in my short-term goal of attending all classes and completing all work assignments on time. For success in another long-term goal of good health, I would need to be committed to eating healthy foods and not over eat because of stress. Exercising regularly and getting enough sleep regardless of other commitments will ensure students a refreshed and…

If you are struggling in a subject, do not ignore it and get poor grades. Ask for help from a teacher, or even a friend that is doing well in that subject. Another thing that will help you academically is staying organized. Keep all of your work and homework neat and tidy in a binder or folder. Next, do not get into trouble. This means do not fight with any of your classmates or argue with your…
