A project submitted to the Ministry of Education in partial fulfilment of Science.
The aim of the project is to identify pollution within the community and recommend actions that can be taken to keep the area clean.
Without water, life is impossible reason being water makes up about 80% of the body of a land plant, and about 60% of the body of a human. It is this water in the bodies of animals and plants that prevents the temperature of the plant or animal from rising too high when it is hot outside, or from falling too low when it is cold.
Land importance can be shown with the food cycle. Our land is home for trees and animals with help in making the process of life/cycle of life keep regulating. We are the home of the smallest insect which help in the food cycle chain, and this chain keep the world functioning in the proper manner.
Waste water and trash are two pollutants that have affected our community. In York’s village waste water have gathered in a big gutter which now host many germs and bacteria. Also the water gives a foul odder which the people residing close by take it hard to bare. Closer to my home in Marble Hill truck driver dump rubbish in the bushes and it is now becoming noticeable to the community.

Interview:
I talked to the Baptist family in York’s Village they said the waste water doesn’t affect them because of how far they live from it. The only time it and issue for them is when they are going to the major supermarket First Choice which is close to them. The villagers cannot do anything about it because the problem comes from the way lands are formed.
What I can do:
At my age two things I could do is ask my school to promote a group which makes people more aware and ask my parents to bring it up to notice of someone in authority. If I tell the school maybe they will try to unite the other students and we make a positive impact in the community.
Recommendation:
To the government, National Solid Waste Management Authority, Central Board of Health, and educators I would ask them to listen to the people who are living in the troubled areas and they all work together to sort the problem out.
Conclusion:
I have learnt that not taking care of the environment can degrade the community to a high degree, can affect humans, plants, and animals alike. Also it could affect our main industry tourism negatively.
