Baking the batter at the correct temperature for the given amount of time will prevent problems with over and undercooking. The best clue to Boxing Day’s origins can be found in the song “Good King Wenceslas.” According to the Christmas carol, Wenceslas, who was Duke of Bohemia in the early 10th century, was surveying his land on St. Stephen’s Day — Dec. 26 — when he saw a poor man gathering wood in the middle of a snowstorm. Moved, the King gathered up surplus food and wine and carried them through the blizzard to the peasant’s door. The…

American families derive pleasure in viewing Christmas movies, and the hyperbolized plots give children and adolescents, the most influential individuals in society, unreasonable expectations, which affect their practicality. Although several individuals would like the reality of a holiday to more closely resemble the television-version, visual settings, reasons for celebrating, and the holiday’s ending make individual unrealistically expect a more romanticized version of Christmas.…

Would a year-round school schedule improve students’ academic performance? There are many debates on whether schools should extend their educational calendar to a full year. While year-round school schedules have their share of benefits, there are also negative outcomes. People often claim the more the better, but what really matters is the quality, not quantity, of education. Year-round schooling should not be organized because students may develop health issues, wouldn’t be prepared for college, and students may miss out on other opportunities during the summer.…

There is no doubt that the school system in the United State needs some adjusting. There is a proposal of possibly extending school hours or shifting the schools into a year-round type system. There are many advantages to having the school operate in a year-round schedule as opposed to the traditional schedule as well as disadvantages.
