THESIS: Pit-bulls are the most underestimated dog in the world because of the history they carry. People think that in the past Pit-bulls were forced to fight each other, but what people don’t realize is that they were brutally tortured. They don’t see that in reality Pit-bulls are one of the sweetest breed of dogs. They’re loving, caring, and affectionate dogs, just like any other dog known to man. Pit-bulls act the way their raised so if their raised to fight and be vicious dogs that’s how they’re going to act because their loyal dogs listen to their owners.

Dog fighting, known as the blood sport, is when two dogs are put in a pit forced to fight to the death against each other just for the entertainment of cruel people. It is illegal in the United States. If anyone is caught being a bystander of a fight or as the host of a fight it is considered a felony and will face major legal issues. The poor dogs are severely tortured. Having to fight to the death many would think is enough torture, but if the dogs lose they are tortured even more by their owner. People don’t realize the hell these dogs are put through and they don’t see that it’s the people who raise them that cause them to act so vicious and aggressive to other dogs and humans.

If seen as a Spector at a dog fight it is illegal in almost all states accept Montana and Hawaii. Dogfighting is a felony in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. In Massachusetts it’s a felony and if caught will have up to 5 years and a maximum fine of $2,500 fine. In 1999 title 8 section 18was added to the U.S code making it a federal crime. A federal crime is to knowingly create, sells, or possess a depiction of animal cruelty. Depiction of animal cruelty means any visual or auditor depiction of animal cruelty including photography, films, or recordings showing a dog being tortured, abused, or killed is illegal under federal law of the state in which the possession or creation of sale takes place In 2007 Congress passed “The Animal Prohibition Enforcement Act” with bi partisan support.
