Phase 1 – Project proposal

1.1 Background of the study
In 2004, Christian Palermo started a taxi company in Ecoville, Ayala. A business that began with a few taxis grew to a fleet of 10 by 2007. Huelar-Palermo Transport Service is located nowadays in Paranaque. The company currently has a fleet of almost 50 vehicles. Palermo is privately held and is operated by his mother, Mrs. Palermo. Close, personal attention, care and involvement make for effective management and the retention of key personnel, resulting in excellent customer service.
Palermo serves over 200 customers per day. Many citizens have expressed appreciation for such efficient and dependable transportation services.
Palermo’s vision is “Driven for Excellence.” This ideal is carried by all Palermo team members to guide them in the provision of excellent customer service.
Palermo’s company mission is to exceed our customers’ needs by providing professional, courteous ground transportation solutions, to create superior business opportunities for our drivers, and to develop an ideal working environment for our employees.

1.2 Project Business Rules
Each day the operator schedules a driver week days. The operator will call or txt the driver if he is available for conformation. Lacking of helper Palermo himself (the operator) checks the vehicle before the trip. Checking the vehicle eats a lot of time starting from 5 am he the operator needs to haste the checking. After that Palermo will give a certain amount of money for the gas. Then the driver is good to go for the 12 hrs work time. After the drivers claim their vehicle for the duty, the
