Developmental Psychology Career Goals
In the future, I want to pursue developmental psychology as an educator. I intend to evolve into a developmental psychology professor and to express the value of human behavior to all of my students. I believe I have what it takes to become an educator because I have a passion for people, a craving for success, and an abundance of patience; I am willing to sacrifice my time and energy for the mental growth of future generations. Not only am I capable of pursuing this career, but also I am aching for the benefits of it. His theory not only inspired me but it shows me that professors are much more. They give their students not only their knowledge, but also their passion. They get involved in the lives of their students. I will be a mentor to all ages at the college level. Educators and assistant educators make their students feel good about themselves and they help the youth realize and fulfill their dreams. This is one of the strengths that I believe I can offer to any student. The students in a classroom should have a learning experience that meets their needs and challenge their learning skills. As a student grows and mature during the adolescent years; they will become more independent, if they choose the right path in their educational accomplishments. If a student chooses to go another direction this could be a reflection on my dedication and contribution to his or her life. This could also be positive or negative publicity for the school and for my reputation as a teacher assistant. This could be an external assessment, which would be a threat to my career of a successful…

Author Keith M. Parsons’s purpose was to briefly summarize the differences between high school and college to his future students. Parson begins his article by stating a few things that will guide you into becoming a successful student. He first wants to explain the difference between a teacher and a professor, “Teachers are evaluated on the basis of learning outcomes, generally as measure by standardized tests. If you don’t learn, then your teacher is blamed. However, things are very different for a university professor. It is no part of my job to make you learn. At university, learning is your job and yours alone. My job is to lead you to the fountain of knowledge. Whether you drink deeply or only gargle is entirely up to you”. (Parson, 1)…

Professor Schofield’s class consisted of a series of assignments that built upon each other until we finally were able to produce a final research paper for her class. During my first semester of college, I had been required to take a college preparatory class that involved the understanding and creating of a problem-solving growth mind-set. When I started Professor Schofield’s class, I had decided to research and write about how higher learning institutions could facilitate students being able to succeed in their studies. Since I was initially a nursing student when I entered college, I had never considered becoming a teacher. Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted a career where I could serve others, and I always believed that being a nurse would allow me to achieve this goal. Still, I fell in love with the education field the moment I started volunteering and aiding in my aunt's classrooms, which they taught grades TK– 4. I immediately changed my major because it makes me feel extremely fortunate to think that one day I would be able to teach, laugh, and help my kids in the same manner that my aunts do. To begin with, I worked as a student intern, as a tutor for the Advancement Via Individual Determination program for four years.…
