For my senior project I choose to learn the ropes of being a professional DJ, under the watch of my mentor Tim Ball. The reason I choose this as my senior project is because I have a lot of interest in music and want to use this opportunity to try to help myself to being more comfortable being in front of people. Before starting this project I knew very little about what it takes to be a professional DJ, so while I work on this project I will be learning new skills and how to manage a DJ business. My mentor is known to the DJ community as DJ Outlaw; he has been a DJ for the last twenty years and has done over 3,000 gigs. He also has a valid Federal Communication of Commerce license (FCC License). He owns his own DJ business…

The three-career Assessment taken last week was an eye opener for me. This is because it makes me understand some new thing about myself. Let me start by analyzing the Triatify Assessment, this assessment gives me a better understand of the kind of person I am or let me say, who am going to become. One thing that surprised me after taking the assessment is that, it said that “I’m a kind of person who is comfortable being the center of attention. My friends admire this about me because I’m not only the life of a party but I have a big heart helping people”. I know this about myself because this is not the first-time people will say something like this to me. I’m a kind of person who loves to go out of my comfort to satisfy people around me,…

After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

Every day I wake up determined to do more than I did the day before. My past achievements include gaining leadership skills, being on a varsity sport, and learning outside of school. I have been in tennis for eight years and varsity for three years, where I have received two awards for most improved player. I was accepted into the program “Trees for Tomorrow” where I learned how to manage and use natural resources in a classroom and in field studies. While I was working there I thought it was what I wanted, but as time progressed I realized it may not be for me. I had been out of school for 2 years when I accepted this job, so I wasn’t quite sure as to what career path I wanted to take. My decision at the time was to work full time and remain productive with that. Sometime you have to make a few changes within in yourself in order to grow as a person.
