DeMott is a writer that believe that movies shows a fake impression of blacks and whites relationship. I do not agree with DeMott impression on black and white movies, film. The movies “Remember the Titans”, based on a true story, shows how blacks and whites did not get along but grows to like and cares for one another more then they expected. DeMott is showed to be proving wrong the this movies, thats why i do not agree with DeMott think about black and white movies. DeMott and the movie "Remember the Titans", shows to different points the explain why blacks and whites relationship is real. Demott was proved wrong once in the movie "Remember the Titans" the black and white football players did not like one another that they had to separate them on the bus. That shows in all movies black and white relationships not always not in the movies. They showed some black and white relationship is in always good and friendly. They also had a scene where one of the white players did not want to block for the black. That scene showed how DeMott was wrong about black and white relationship being over shaped to be having a good relationship. In the movie "Remember the Titans" the player started to get alone through the coaches help. Even though the same white player did not block for the black players as the whites and blacks players relationship grow, the white player friend stood up and kick the white player that was not blocking. This was something that really happen in movies and in real life. There was always a scene one the team got back to the school and the showed how they get alone now but all the whites family and friend did not want to change because the team change. Showing whites and blacks getting alone and not getting alone. Throughout this movie you was showed how whites and blacks relationship was good and bad all through the movie. "Remember the Titans" showed how getting whites and blacks to work together can help to create and great and maybe

In today’s society media often makes negative stereotypes about blacks and whites. We see these stereotypes in movies, television, and other networks in the world. Media in general shapes the way we view different race groups and cultural differences. For one thing, media is powerful and it is something that many people use for researching information and just to be apart of. We need to be consciously aware of what we believe in the world and make our own perspective of someone not based on anyone else’s perception. From my viewpoint, media is unbiased and bias in many ways. There is never a concrete story that people will truly believe because in the back of our minds are preconceived ideas that are instilled in us. Adichie mentions that she was once brought into a single story. For example, she believed that Mexicans had one thing to bring to the table which was being an abject immigrant. Once a particular story is created in the world, then people stick with it. One word or phrase in the media can change an entire meaning. These stereotypes can influence the way that we interact with each other as…

In the movie, Remember the Titans, it’s about both races; black and white coming together as a team and come together as a family. This film really exploits America’s football and I believe that’s how this team really brought people of both races together. By combining America's love for football and the hatred of one another's race it showed people that race didn’t really matter, we all play the same way. Although the film was very touching and powerful in its message, there are a few things displayed in the movie that does not match up with the history.…

Benjamin DeMott starts “Put on a Happy Face” by pointing out that the media is trying to force the friendship of blacks and whites. He specifically uses Pulp Fiction and Die Hard with a Vengeance to show how the black friend saves the main white character (DeMott 93). DeMott is obviously disturbed at the media’s attempt at glorifying this relationship that in real life is nonexistent. DeMott uses sarcasm as his main method to prove his point to the audience. His audience is everyone because he uses media that every kind of person has seen or knows about. He uses movies, politics, newspaper articles, and songs; so everyone can know the truth about how these interracial relationships won’t work, in DeMott’s eyes.…

Another point is, because of all this intolerance for black people, the whites are creating more and more fights and discrepancies in society what leads to an unsafe world for everyone. White people fight and destroy themselves by judging the black peoples way of living. This way of living is namely a characteristic, not the way someone looks like. Have you ever watched a movie where there was not a conflict at some point that needed to be solved? The answer should be no because within every movie there is always some kind of conflict that must be solved. In "Remember the Titans" there are at least a series of ten or more conflicts, whether they are physical, mental, interpersonal, or even just random violence. These conflicts affect the movie itself and because of that can't be just left open, but must be resolved at some point or in some way; along with that they are also either solved in a good way or a very bad way. "Remember the Titans" is the story about a school in Alexandria, Virginia where up until 1971, was all white and was segregated against the blacks. This of course causes most of the conflicts because of the whites not liking the blacks and vice versa. As the story continues there are problems that arise, but each one of them is solved in a very unique way whether it is the football players, coaches, or everyone personally that solve it.…

By watching the film I have a deep understanding, I know racial distinction is not just by appearance, we don't really know what is race, actually the race is not important, but the race is still bringing great influence on people's lives. This film is about race, not about attitude and behavior of the individual, and in the past in the history of the institutional and policy in the United States is still on the basis of race, through sacrifice others bring interests for groups. The biggest benefit is the white, white we see at the time of life is so happy, but not because of their hard work, but because of their laws, courts, customs, even if the housing is a race.…

Set in 1971 Alexandria, Virginia; High school football is the town's most popular sport. The school board is under a court order to integrate the public schools. In the process of integration, tension amongst individual in school becomes high. This film is a perfect concoction of two elements: a coup of an underdog sports team and a successful assimilation of high school football team in general. The interaction of two coaches, a black and a white, is quite a challenging part. Both Coach Boone and Coach Yoast had struggle to overcome their personal dilemma and worked for the betterment of their team. Although reluctant at first, Yoast accepted the demotion and conspired with Boone to produce a winning team! The sub-story between Gerry Bertier, Titan's white team captain, and Julius Campbell, an aptitude black player is also remarkable. It confirms that strong friendship can be forged despite the racial hatred plaguing the community.…
